The quickest among the fans were already on a business venture as the rest of the crowd surged forward. "I want it! I'll pay 2,000 dollars! I want the one closest to his heart!"
Natasha was still standing there after everyone had left.
It was the first time she had gotten to speak with Jack up close, and she had already given him a bad first impression.
She felt that she would be too traumatized to approach him ever again.
Natasha then remembered that she hadn't removed her mask, so Jack did not know what she looked like. She let out a breath of relief. "Almost scared myself there."
She described the scene to Amelia on the way back, leaving her stunned.
Amelia asked, "So how are you feeling now?"
Natasha got out of the car and coughed twice. "Nothing in particular. Am I supposed to feel something?"
Amelia genuinely admired Natasha's composure.
She recalled a scene back in the recording studio with Natasha and a few of their colleagues, where the microphone in front of Natasha began to let out sparks and electricity for some reason.
Everyone else jumped away from the microphone to keep their distance while Natasha calmly unplugged it in silence.
Natasha continued, "Alright, you must let me know if there's another chance to see Jack again, okay?"
She would definitely be prepared for the next encounter. It did not matter whether Jack remembered what had happened that day, as it was her hand that had grabbed onto the wrong thing.
Back at her apartment, Natasha was thinking about how to apologize to Jack. "I'm really sorry about what happened today. I didn't expect for something like that to happen. I'll send you a brand-new shirt just like the one you were wearing."
She shut her eyes and hit send. For the next two hours, she dared not look at her phone.
But then again, Jack had never replied to her messages, so she figured he would never see it in the first place.
