Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary) novel Chapter 34

It was nothing short of coercion. When a mistress could walk freely out in the open, the original wife of the marriage was no longer important.

Hayden was not so stupid as to not see the irony in that. But Nicole had tagged along against her will; she couldn't do anything about it.

"Besides, what right do you have to ask me for such a request? I respected you as my mother-in-law back then, but now, I'm just Natasha Bradley. I'm no longer your daughter-in-law."

Natasha's reply made ample sense, which caused Hayden's expression to shift dramatically. She realized there was no further need to continue now that talking wouldn't work.

Nicole glanced down at her phone before leaving the private room.

"Mom, you don't need to worry about me." Matthew looked like he had already made up his mind. It was a look that Natasha had never seen on him before.

Hayden replied, "Like I said, even if Natasha won't forgive you, I forbid you from marrying Nicole!"

With that, Nicole pushed the door open and returned to the private room. She looked extremely displeased. It was clear that she had heard what Hayden had said.

Hayden could not care less as she took a sip of her tea. It was only a matter of time before Nicole found out about her stance on the matter.

Suddenly, a woman's voice, carrying the subtle timbre of age, called out from behind Nicole. "Hayden?"

Hayden looked up toward the voice and was left dumbfounded. "Molly? Why are you here?"

Molly Spencer replied, "I'm here for Nicole. She's a really kind girl, isn't she? She saved my life once. I wanted to give her five million dollars as thanks, but she just wouldn't accept it."

Hayden was shocked that Nicole actually knew Molly.

She also noticed that Molly had nothing but praise for Nicole. She began to wonder if she had been too one-sided in judging Nicole.

Molly continued, "I heard that Nicole's about to marry your son. This is my wedding gift for them. Please accept it."

Hayden smiled as she politely declined the gift, while she simultaneously ran her hand to get a feel of what was inside.
