Natasha wasn't certain whether Zachary had noticed anything unusual earlier, which might explain why he came in to look around the room.
After tidying things up, she couldn't fall asleep. Instead, she threw herself into her academic report, refining the topic for the upcoming seminar.
Before she knew it, morning had arrived, and Natasha let out a yawn.
Over breakfast with the others, she learned that someone suspicious had been chased down the night before. He managed to escape but sustained an injury on his left arm.
Everyone suspected him to be the murderer responsible for the 12 bodies, and the chase continued.
"I hope they apprehend the suspect soon. That way, we can return home earlier," Xavier muttered under his breath.
After all, the whole situation had everyone on edge.
Soon, an official announcement was made. "For your safety, please remain inside your rooms. Do not leave unless absolutely necessary. Our team will provide assistance as needed."
After breakfast, Natasha returned to her room. Zachary followed her the entire way and only stopped when she was about to close the door.
"Was everything alright with you last night?" Zachary's gaze shifted to her neck.
Worried that someone might notice, Natasha had purposely wrapped a scarf around her neck today. However, to her surprise, Zachary still caught on.
With a slightly awkward smile, she replied, "I'm fine. It was just a little accident. You should head back now."
Unable to shake off his concern, Zachary reached out and stopped Natasha just as she was about to close the door.
Natasha looked at Zachary in confusion.
After hesitating for a moment, he said, "If you're scared, I can move in and keep you company."
