Joycelyn found Selene’s reply both amusing and frustrating, leaving her unsure how to respond.

She glanced at the aloof man on the sofa, put away her phone, and prepared a simple and nutritious breakfast, along with a cup of freshly ground black coffee.
“Have a bite first. I disinfected my hands just now,” Joycelyn said gently, placing the coffee close to Ellison.
Ellison looked down at his phone, not giving any response.
“Today’s coffee should be good. Give it a try,” Joycelyn added, waiting a moment instead of leaving immediately.
Ellison’s face remained cold and stern as he reluctantly hummed.
He was simply exerting his coldness and arrogance to the extreme.
Seeing no point in coaxing him further, Joycelyn went to the kitchen, grabbed a sandwich, and ate while heading upstairs.
After finishing her breakfast, she stripped the bedding and put it in the wash, then went to shower and wash her hair.
In the living room, Ellison glanced up from his phone at the coffee cup placed closest to him.
The minimalist white ceramic cup emitted a warm steam, with a beautiful heart pattern on the surface of the coffee.
Ellison’s dark eyes fixated on the heart for a few seconds before a slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“Not bad.” he said.
Ellison leaned forward, carefully lifting the coffee cup and examining it for a few seconds. After blowing gently, he took the first sip, ensuring the heart shape remained intact.

About an hour later, Joycelyn took out the washed clothes and sheets to dry.
She packed a small suitcase, including a casual outfit and pajamas, thinking of the grumpy man.
As his wife, she also packed two sets of clothes and toiletries for him.
He was a clean freak. She checked the time and realized they could still have lunch together.
Joycelyn carried the suitcase downstairs, where Ellison was already dressed in a suit, waiting.
“Rocky, be good at home. Mommy will come back to see you in a few days,” Joycelyn said, comforting the little dog.
While she was away, someone would be assigned to take care of Rocky. She felt quite reassured about that.
“Mr. Grant, let’s go.” Joycelyn pulled the suitcase and walked up to Ellison.
There was no awkwardness or guilt in her demeanor. She looked at him with a calm and bright smile.
Her eyes were gentle and serene, shining like stars.
Ellison still looked calm and serious as always, not showing any emotion. But Joycelyn could tell he

He needed to be coaxed.
Joycelyn decided to play along but maintained her calm and gentle demeanor without indulging him too much
Seeing he remained unmoved, Joycelyn pulled her suitcase closer and patted the handle. “I packed two sets of dotes for you too, all in my suitcase.”
Ellison glanced at Joycelyn and pressed his thin lips together for a moment before responding in a low voice. “Ham”
With that, he stood up and adjusted his sleeves smoothly.
He was wearing a black and white suit today. His tie was neatly tied, and on his left wrist was the Rolex wach Joycelyn had given him. His entire presence exuded nobility and commanded natural respect.
His every move radiated charm.
William was already waiting outside.
Seeing the two of them come out, William quickly stepped forward to open the back door of the car.
In the back seat, Joycelyn took out a spare mask from her bag, and Ellison remained silent.
In the car, neither of them spoke.
Joycelyn sat quietly, looking out the window, but her clear eyes were darting around.
She wanted to talk to him, but she was afraid he would ignore her and make things awkward.
With this atmosphere, it seemed they were not supposed to be heading for wedding photos and a honeymoon, but instead. it felt like they were in the midst of a legendary cold war.
For her, it was best to just take things one step at a time.
Ellison crossed his long legs, leaning against the seatback, with a laptop on his lap showing the stock situation of the Grant Group.
Joycelyn had been looking out the window but soon found herself captivated by his reflection in the window. His sharp features, resting on one hand, looked deeper under the light from outside, showing off his charm.
Even though they quarreled, just seeing his face made her feel it wasn’t worth being upset.
Joycelyn leaned closer to his side and peeked at the screen.
“Mr. Grant, are you busy?” Joycelyn deliberately asked, her voice sweet and playful.
“Can’t you see with your own eyes?” Ellison said in a cold voice.
“My eyes can only see your handsomeness.” Joycelyn mimicked his serious tone, turning it into a sincere compliment.
Ellison’s dark eyes flickered as he glanced sideways at her.
Joycelyn met his deep gaze and blinked sweetly.
Inside, she felt a bit nervous. It was her first time trying to flatter him. She was afraid it would be backfired.

Ellison’s thin lips curled into a slight smile as he tapped his finger on the laptop. With a hint of pride in his voice, he said, “At least your eyes are good for something.”
“Yes, not only are they good–looking, but they’re especially good at noticing your handsomeness, Mr. Grant.”
