Chapter 142
Chapter 142
When William heard this, he leaned in to take a look. “What are you talking about?”
“See the gentleness on his face? And look at Mrs. Grant, she’s beautiful, sure, but she’s totally missing his hidden feelings. They’re not on the same wavelength, Henry explained, a touch dramatic.
William squinted at the camera for a long moment. All he saw was a beautiful couple. “I don’t see it. You’re imagining things.”
Henry rolled his eyes and yanked the camera back. “Straight people, he muttered under his breath.
William frowned, still puzzled.
Meanwhile, Joycelyn stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her posture as she admired her reflection
This dress really did wonders, it made her feel every inch the elegant CEO’s wife.
The diamond–encrusted wedding gown was a showstopper. Its strapless design wasn’t too revealing, the cinched waist highlighted her figure perfectly, and the dramatic skirt gave her an ethereal vibe.
The diamonds sparkled like crazy, catching the light in a way that made the whole thing feel magical.
For a moment, Joycelyn let herself bask in the joy of her childhood dream coming true, she looked like a princess straight out of a fairy tale.
“How do I look?” she asked, turning slightly to check the back. Then, she noticed Ellison standing behind her, his gaze locked, on her reflection.

He didn’t say anything, but his eyes were so intense it made her heart skip.
Feeling flustered, she looked down and fiddled with her gown. “Well? Do I look good or not?”
Honestly, she felt absolutely beautiful in this moment and just hoped it didn’t come across as narcissistic
“You look stunning,” he said, his voice steady. “But I bet it’ll look even better in the sunlight.” Ellison bent down, adjusting her skirt with surprising care.
“It’s a little heavy,” she admitted, “but sometimes looking good is worth it.”
This was her first wedding dress, and she knew she would hold onto the joy and excitement of this moment for a long time.
“They’re all real diamonds, custom–made,” Ellison said as he stepped closer, his hand resting lightly on Joycelyn’s waist. “Of course, they’re heavier.”
The staff in the room, although they couldn’t understand the language Joycelyn spoke, exchanged glances but kept quiet, aware of Ellison’s commanding presence.
Yet, when they saw the couple standing together in front of the mirror, their intimate gestures made everyone murmur softly with envy.
It wasn’t like Ellison to act so openly affectionate, and Joycelyn, noticing all the eyes on them, quickly composed herself. “Um, I think I’ll go get my hair and makeup done now,” she said, trying to steer the attention elsewhere.
She wasn’t used to this much PDA, especially not in front of a crowd. Ellison, however, didn’t seem bothered.

He simply smiled as he watched her gather her gown and stride toward the dressing table with as much poise as she could
mister.
Joycelyn sat down in the plush chair, glancing at Ellison, who stood behind her with his arms crossed, looking relaxed but ever so watchful.
He spoke softly in a language she didn’t recognize–his voice low and smooth.
The stylist team immediately got to work, four or five people moving in unison. One young woman knelt in front of Joycelyn, carefully starting on her nails.
Joycelyn shifted uncomfortably. The whole scene felt excessive, and the kneeling made her uneasy.
“What language was that?” she asked, catching Ellison’s gaze in the mirror.
“Valisian,” he said simply.
“Can you tell her she doesn’t need to kneel? She should use a stool or something. This feels… unnecessary, Joycelyn said, raising her brows at him.
Being good at Mersian was one thing, but now Valisian? She felt completely out of her depth.
Ellison chuckled and relayed the message.
The manicurist paused mid–task, stunned for a moment, before standing and nodding deeply toward Joycelyn in gratitude. William quickly handed her a small stool, and she sat down with a quiet smile.
The stylists continued their work, the atmosphere buzzing with quiet admiration. Even Henry couldn’t resist snapping a photo of Joycelyn.
For a moment, she felt like a celebrity. At first, the attention made her awkward, but she quickly settled into the rhythm. Everyone was just doing their jobs, and she deserved to enjoy this once–in–a–lifetime moment.
Joycelyn’s natural beauty made their jobs easier. Her delicate features; an oval face with a high, petite nose and strikingly clear eyes, gave her a timeless, graceful appeal.
There was a subtle coolness to her warmth, a charm that was both inviting and distant.
Her eyes, especially, were mesmerizing, like a spring that reflected light in the gentlest way.
The stylists worked their magic lightly, enhancing her already stunning features with soft touches of makeup.
A few delicate diamonds were added to the corners of her eyes, complementing the brilliance of her diamond wedding dress and giving her an ethereal, fairy–like glow.
Ellison, standing nearby, seemed unable to look away. It was as if he was seeing Joycelyn in a new light for the first time. His gaze was intense, and for a moment, he didn’t even blink.
Breaking his trance, he reached over to the stylist holding a pair of crystal heels and knelt in front of Joycelyn. “Put these on,” he said.
Joycelyn was startled, her reflection forgotten. Seeing Ellison, a man of such stature, crouching in front of her to help her
