Octavia was frantic with worry, afraid that Joycelyn would make her escape. She rushed over as fast as she could. When she saw the half–open door, she cautiously stepped inside. 

The room was dim, the lighting hazy and unclear. Octavia tentatively called out, “Joycelyn?” 

Joycelyn was hiding by the door, waiting for her to approach. 

Octavia walked further into the room and froze when she saw Tommy lying on the floor. Her heart skipped a beat. In her panic, she noticed a shadow beside her. 

She was about to turn around when something heavy struck her. Her vision went black, and she crumpled to the ground, 

unconscious. 

Joycelyn wiped the fingerprints off the hair dryer and put it back in place. Then, she grabbed a handful of water and splashed it onto Tommy’s face, kicking him twice to wake him up. 

Afterward, she quickly ran to the door, turned off the lights, and shut it behind her. 

The cold water brought Tommy back to his senses. As soon as he regained consciousness, he felt a woman lying next to him. Without a second thought, he rolled over, pinning Octavia beneath him, and slapped her several times. 

“Dammit, you asked for this,” he growled, each slap hard and unforgiving. 

Octavia snapped back to reality, her body recoiling as she felt a filthy hand groping her. Her skirt was torn, and he was about to assault her. Terrified, she begged, “Mr. Cross, I’m not Joycelyn. I’m your son’s girlfriend, Octavia.” 

She struggled desperately, but Tommy was like a heavy weight on top of her, and she couldn’t move. 

Tommy didn’t care. His mind was clouded by lust and rage, and all he wanted was to take out his frustration on the woman beneath him. 

At the door, Joycelyn could hear Octavia’s cries of pain. This time, she felt no sympathy. If she hadn’t escaped, it would have been her in that position. 

Just as she was closing the door, she bumped into a solid chest, nearly screaming in shock. 

“It’s me,” Ellison said, breathless from running. Sweat was pouring down his forehead and neck. His deep, dark eyes, once filled with worry, had now settled into a calm, composed focus. 

Joycelyn had been scared out of her mind, but when she saw Ellison, it was like she’d found her anchor. She pouted, then threw herself into his arms, her voice small and full of quiet vulnerability. “Finally you’re here.” 

Having never been through anything like that, let alone been in a fight, Joycelyn was shaken. She clung to Ellison, her whole body trembling. 

Ellison wrapped her tightly in his arms, relieved to find she was unharmed. He let out a deep breath. “Are you okay? Who told you to drink?” 

“I… Joycelyn started to explain, but just then, lewd insults echoed from the room. It was clear the two inside had already crossed the line. 

Ellison’s brow furrowed in anger. Realizing what was happening he immediately covered Joycelyn’s ears and led her toward

the elevator, eager to get out of there. 

“What happened?” he asked.

“That old man tried to take advantage of me, feeding me alcohol Octavia didn’t help at all–she even pushed me into his room. So, I figured I’d play the good Samaritan and set them up she said.

“Don’t you think that’s kind of vicious?” Joycelyn asked, still a little shaken by what had happened. 

“She was the one who set you up first. If you hadn’t been lucky, you’d be the one being humiliated. If it were me, I’d have sent more men for her.” 

Joycelyn’s guilty expression brightened immediately, her eyes wide. 

Ellison’s gaze softened for a moment, then turned cold as he locked eyes with her, his voice firm. “I’d rather you hurt others than let them hurt you.” 

Joycelyn looked up at him, a strange sense of awe washing over her. She thought, ‘No wonder he is the CEO–his sense of responsibility is off the charts.” 

Just then, the elevator reached the underground parking lot, and Ellison carried her out. 

“Let me down, I can walk,” Joycelyn said, still not used to being carried. 

“Someone’s coming,” Ellison said abruptly. 

“Ah!” Joycelyn jumped, immediately ducking her head and pressing her face against his chest, too embarrassed to look up. “Stay hidden. We’ll talk when we get home.” Ellison’s voice was low and serious. 

He thought, ‘She needs to be taught a lesson about drinking outside. If this isn’t handled, who knows what could happen next time?‘ He pinched her waist, a silent reminder to be more careful in the future.
