As Joycelyn walked farther away, Octavia’s anger still hadn’t subsided. 

“Hello, is that Joycelyn’s sister?” Linda hung up the phone and walked up to Octavia, striking up a conversation. 

Octavia turned around and saw Linda’s work ID, noting her position as a director. Instantly, she put on a sweet smile. 

“Hello, this is Octavia, Joycelyn’s sister. Octavia stretched out her hand politely. 

Linda shook it, smiling as she said, “Did you just say she married a poor guy? Have you met him?” 

Linda had heard some gossip at the company, though it hadn’t been blown out of proportion.

“Great, I’ll be in touch.” Linda smiled and turned, walking back toward the event. 

Octavia stood there, holding her phone, smiling like a blooming flower, glad she took this side gig today.

After finishing the conversation, Joycelyn asked Aurelia where she was, planning to meet up. 

Aurelia told her to hurry because Ruby had arrived and was making a big scene. The staff was busy greeting her. 

Joycelyn didn’t think much of it at first but then realized it was more of a grand entrance than just a simple greeting. What started as a professional event now had media flooding in. Cameras were clicking non–stop as they filmed Ruby at the check–in area. 

The staff and event hosts seemed like they were just tools for stardom–like they were about to hold up a “We love you” sign. After the photos were taken and the check–in was completed, Ruby went up on stage to give another speech. 

She handled the questions from industry professionals with precision and expertise. 

Dressed in a Chanel–style, elegant and professional outfit, Ruby exuded luxury. 

Her words were smooth and authoritative, and Joycelyn couldn’t help but admire her. The rich girl really knew how to play the game. 

Joycelyn decided not to get involved. She checked the time–almost time to leave. She planned to head to the staff lounge to grab her bag and head out. 

As she passed a security door, she heard a man’s voice behind it, speaking calmly about the development and applications of the intelligent systems.
