“This is ridiculous, I really don’t think so.” Joycelyn shook her head, muttering to herself as she rejected the idea. 

If Ellison were gay, he wouldn’t be interested in her. That idea was even more absurd than her earlier thought that he was only after her for desire. 

Selene didn’t notice the awkward look on Joycelyn’s face and continued in her usual playful tone, “But you know, these days, it’s all about being bisexual.” 

“Both men and women?” Aurelia, usually the calm one, looked shocked at this. 

Joycelyn, who was just about to take a sip of her water, froze. ‘Are young people today really this open–minded? 

Selene smirked slyly, sending a chill down Joycelyn’s spine. 

Ellison definitely wasn’t like that. Despite all the chaos, Joycelyn still believed in what Ellison had said before. In their bed, they were perfectly in sync. 

“Joycelyn, why did you look pale? Did I scare you? Do you think your cold boyfriend is acting strange?” Selene asked, quickly walking over to her with a concerned look. 

“I’m just a little shocked, but it’s got nothing to do with my boyfriend,” Joycelyn quickly took a sip of water and changed the subject. “Let’s get back to work.” 

“Alright. But if anything happens, you have to tell us, okay? We’re all experienced, you know. A naïve little rabbit like you can easily be deceived by men,” Selene teased.

I’m fine,” Joycelyn smiled, feeling a little warmth in her heart. 

Actually, she wasn’t as clueless as she used to be. 

At 2 p.m., the Grant Group’s subsidiary was holding a smart system brand release conference. 

The whole event planning was handled by Joycelyn and Aurelia, and in the afternoon, both of them were assigned to manage the behind–the–scenes process. 

The convention center was buzzing with excitement. 

On stage, the subsidiary’s VP was speaking. After the process they were responsible for finished and turned into free time for visitors, Joycelyn and Aurelia finally sighed with relief. 

“Let’s go take a look, Joycelyn.” Aurelia grabbed Joycelyn’s arm, suggesting they go explore the exhibition. 

Joycelyn wasn’t particularly familiar with advanced technology, but since they were there, she might as well take a look around. 

“I heard the person in charge of smart development is Ms. Wilson. That’s really surprising,” Aurelia said, looking at Joycelyn with wide eyes. 

Joycelyn was equally shocked. “The one from the birthday party yesterday?” 

“Yes, apparently she studied this for Mr. Grant. You know, rich people’s love lives are always on another level,” Aurelia sighed.

Joycelyn was stunned as well. 

Ruby really was something–so meticulous, showing affection from every angle. 

But more than anything, Joycelyn found herself growing even more curious about Ellison. 

Joycelyn thought, ‘Did he marry someone as ordinary as me just to annoy those rich girls?‘ 

Just as Joycelyn was lost in thought, she heard a familiar voice, 

“Peter, you were amazing on stage! You looked even better up there. I really admire you!” 

Following the sickly sweet voice, Joycelyn saw Octavia, in a long dress, playfully flirting with Peter, the VP who had just spoken on stage. 

Joycelyn thought, ‘What was Octavia doing here?‘ 

And Peter, looking like he had been completely charmed, seemed to enjoy her flirtatious demeanor. 

“These are just regular work things. Thanks for liking them,” Peter replied, trying to play it cool. 

“Peter, thanks for hosting this release event. It opened my eyes and gave me such a valuable opportunity,” Octavia said, her perfectly made–up face and cheongsam accentuating her curves. 

She looked youthful, yet sensual, while Peter–an obvious IT guy with a receding hairline–did have a bit of an elite vibe. Octavia was always on the hunt for a rich husband. 

After exchanging a few words, they were already swapping contact information. 

Joycelyn didn’t want to get involved, so she quickly took Aurelia’s arm and walked away. 

She kept her eyes on her surroundings. Luckily, Ellison didn’t like to show his face in public. If Octavia figured out his real identity, things could really get complicated.
