To the company?
Freya was genuinely surprised Louis had invited her.

I’d assumed he’d never let me near anything related to his business–not that I’d ever wanted to intrude.
Still, I’m curious. Having never worked in a corporate environment after graduation, my understanding of office culture came entirely from books and articles. I’d never experienced it firsthand.
“Is it really appropriate for me to go?” she asked Louis, just to confirm.
“Why wouldn’t it be?” Louis countered.
“We’re getting divorced eventually. Won’t it cause complications if people see me now?” That wasn’t her only concern. Wasn’t he worried she might cause trouble? Or that being seen together might make it harder to finalize the divorce later?
“Who doesn’t know we’re married?” Louis didn’t follow her logic.
Is she implying I’m some kind of secret?
“Uh… never mind.” Freya said.
If Louis didn’t care, why should I?
When Derek arrived, his eyes flickered with surprise at seeing Freya, but his professionalism won out. Though he and Louis shared a close bond, he never overstepped. Connecting Louis’s recent behavior, he smoothly opened the car door for her,
“Thanks.” Freya remembered Derek from the novel–Louis’s right–hand man, more like a brother than an employee. His place in Louis’s life far outweighed mine as a nominal wife.
“Don’t mention it, Ms. Stone,” Derek said politely.
Given Louis’s actions today, bringing Freya to the company spoke volumes about her future standing.
Freya, oblivious, simply admired Derek’s impeccable manners.
In the car, Louis and Freya sat in the back, leaving the passenger seat empty. Silence lingered until Derek glanced in the rearview mirror and caught Louis stealing subtle looks at Freya.

Chapter 155 Visiting the Company
This guy’s never been in love and doesn’t even realize it. Can’t even hold a conversation. Thank god they’re already married–with his skills, he’d never make it down the aisle otherwise.
Upon arrival, Freya was startled to find the company wasn’t in the downtown area but in a tech park to the west. With Louis remaining silent, Derek took the initiative.
“This way, Ms. Stone. Most of our work involves research, so we’re based here. The public- facing operations are downtown.”
