Chapter 158 Gaming
Everyone returned to their workstations, and Freya noticed how seriously they took their jobs. Despite their carlier jokes, they became completely focused the moment they sat down. No wonder Louis hired them.
Louis seemed completely at ease here, as if he owned the place. He led Freya deeper inside, first stopping by his office.
As expected, Louis’s office exuded a cold, minimalist aesthetic–black, white, and gray dominating the space. However, the addition of classically designed furniture softened the atmosphere, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication.
Without needing instructions, Derek poured tea for both of them. Louis glanced at the selection and noticed Derek had chosen the most expensive tea from the shelf but said nothing.
Thanks to her grandfather, Freya had some knowledge of tea, but most of the varieties here were unfamiliar to her. When Derek handed her the cup, she took a sip but couldn’t discern anything special—just a faint aroma that suggested it was high–quality.
Derek waited expectantly for Freya to compliment the tea, but she remained silent.
At least she didn’t gulp it down like water–that would’ve been tragic. Even Louis rarely drinks this tea himself.
Though she was inside, Freya didn’t expect a full tour of the core facilities. She knew her place in Louis’s life and never imagined he’d actually show her around. Just being here was surprising enough.
After dismissing Derek–who left with lingering concern for his boss–Louis suddenly asked, “You like online games, don’t you?”
Freya was taken aback that Louis had noticed.
Gaming is one of my few genuine hobbies, though I rarely played openly. How does he pick up on that?
Still, there was no reason to deny it. “Yes, I’ve always enjoyed gaming. You just never saw me play before.”
The original “Freya” had never touched games, so she quickly adjusted her explanation to fit the character’s backstory.

Louis wasn’t probing her. Seeing her slight unease masked by nonchalance, he smirked. “What kind? PvP or other stuff?”
