Freya didn’t know Louis that well, but she believed in the character written in the original story, that man the so called villain was never someone who would willingly rely on a woman for success. In fact, if he had been willing to compromise, he wouldn’t have encountered so many difficulties in the first place. A man like that would never gamble his marriage just to make a comeback, at least not in the short term.
As for the marriage between her and Louis, it was purely an arrangement to repay a debt of gratitude. At the time, whether it was for his grandpa sake or for the sake of his reputation, Louis had agreed to it. But this was completely different from what Victoria was suggesting. Back then, no one would have looked down on him for it, people only saw it as an act of loyalty. He had always been in control of the situation, never put in a position that would make him feel inferior.
Freya didn’t mind divorcing Louis if he truly wanted it. But it certainly wasn’t going to happen just because some outsider decided it was for his own good. She had her own stance, whatever Louis chose is his own business, she would respect it.
“You just want to drag him down and refuse to divorce him!” Victoria snapped, it was as if the tail was stepped on, and it exploded all of a sudden.
“How can you be so selfish? Louis has already done more than enough for you. Now that he finally has a chance to turn things around you want to wipe out his chance with your own hands, you are so disgusting!”
Freya didn’t give her a chance to speak.
“This is something anyone could figure out with just a little thought, if he really liked you, then tell me, why didn’t you two get married before grandpa arranged for me to be in the picture? If it was just a matter of not being ready, then why weren’t you even a couple? You keep saying that he’s not the type to betray people, but right now you are the one trying to push him into betraying someone. And besides, you’re only doing this to satisfy your own feelings for him, you haven’t even considered his actual situation. Forgive me, but I don’t see any genuine love for him in you. All I see is a woman trying to satisfy her own selfish desires while convincing herself it’s love.
