“Don’t worry; you won’t fall off. If you don’t believe me, try reaching out to the side–you’ll feel an invisible air wall,” Louis said, guiding Freya’s trembling hand outward.
Freya touched an invisible wall about a foot and a half from her seat. That eased her nerves a little. She tested the other three directions too, and sure enough, there were invisible air walls on all sides.
That meant no matter how much she moved around, as long as she stayed on the eagle’s back, she wouldn’t fall–even if she wanted to.
Feeling safe, Freya immediately relaxed. She looked left and right, even craned her neck to peer downward. The view from this height really did feel different.
“Where did you get this giant eagle? I didn’t see anything like it in the shop,” Freya asked Louis, curiosity piqued.
“I stumbled upon a special event when I logged into the game; got it from completing a quest.” If he hadn’t remembered the quest reward was a flying mount, he wouldn’t even have bothered doing it, he would’ve come looking for her right away.
“What kind of quest was it? Is it still available?” Even though she couldn’t see the mount’s full appearance yet, Freya could already tell it looked amazing. And it could fly; of course, she wanted one too.
“This golden–winged eagle, each server only has one. You’re not going to get your hands on another flying mount anytime soon,” Louis said, watching her glance around curiously. “If you want to ride, just let me know.”
That reminded Freya of the question she’d asked earlier. “Right–how did the first place?”

“It’s the first test run. I had to come see for myself”
“Oh, I see. So this time… can I do whatever I want?” Freya thought if he said no, she’d find a way to sneak off on her own.
“Sure.” Louis sent her a trade request.
“What for?” Freya accepted it, and Louis handed her a pile of items.
“I’ve got more stuff than I know what to do with. The account was loaded with gear the

moment I logged in.” Freya now had tons of money in her inventory, plus all sorts of odds and ends. It looked like she wasn’t lacking anything at all.
“Just hold onto it–you’ll understand soon.”
They flew a good distance before Louis finally decided to land. Freya found it a bit odd. “Feels like we’ve been flying for a while. Aren’t you going to tell me to log off?”
“This test is a lot more refined than the last one you played. Time moves faster in–game now, so it doesn’t feel as long.”
After they landed, Freya noticed a city not far ahead. “Where are we?”
“Oblista–the one we visited last time.” Louis led her through the gates, where they were surprisingly stopped and checked. A notice posted nearby seemed to indicate someone was wanted.
Once they finally got inside, Freya followed Louis, a little dazed. He seemed to know exactly where he was going, so she didn’t bother asking. I’m just here to mess around anyway, right?
To her surprise, Louis brought her to the largest tavern in Oblista and headed straight into a private room.
Freya followed, thinking he’d brought her there for a good meal–but to her surprise, there were already quite a few people inside.
“Hey, Freya, good morning!” A man dressed like a refined gentleman snapped open a folding fan with flair, waving away imaginary heat as he greeted her with a cheerful smile.
Anyone who called her Freya was obviously one of Louis‘ friends. Freya studied his face closely. “You’re Mr. Baylon?”
“Freya’s eyes are sharp–right on the money. Now can you tell who these other folks are?” Baylon gestured to the people beside him.
Freya took a closer look. “Mr. Baylon, Mr. Kendrick… I don’t know this one… but this one- Jasmine!”
