Chapter 229 Let’s Start with Love
“My original name was also Freya. I never dated anyone. My previous life was simple–I went to school, did what I was supposed to, and after college I supported myself by writing novels and doing design work. My parents were gone, so no one was pressuring me to get married. I just lived my own quiet life until I died saving someone, and that’s how I ended up in this world.”
Freya’s voice was calm as she breezed through her past life in a single sentence.
“I’ve never liked anyone, and I don’t even know what love is. I don’t dislike you, but whether I like you or not.., I’m not sure. There’s no doubt you’re an incredible man–I’ve seen it clearly while living with you these past few weeks. But I’ve never thought about you as the person I’d spend my life with. So… I can’t give you an answer.”
It was a question she had never considered, suddenly placed before her. Freya truly didn’t know how to answer.
She knew exactly what Louis was asking. But she hadn’t thought about it before–so how could she suddenly say she liked him just because he was an outstanding man? She wasn’t someone who would sell herself for money. That wasn’t who she was. So she had no answer to give.
But to Louis, this answer was far better than anything he expected. At the very least, he was sure Freya was telling the truth. Her eyes didn’t waver as she looked at him, steady and sincere. He asked her:
“Are you against marriage?”
Freya shook her head. “No. Even in my past life, I wanted to get married, have children. I don’t dislike kids–I actually like them quite a bit. I just hoped that within my limited life, I could live as fully as possible.”
“Alright,” Louis said. “I won’t pretend I’m some perfect man, but I can safely say I’m better than most men in this world. It’s okay if you haven’t thought about it before–start thinking. about it now. We can date first. Build a relationship. Become real husband and wife over time. Would that work?”
The words should have sounded forceful, but coming from Louis, they were full of caution, vulnerability, and hope. Freya’s heart trembled before her brain even caught up–and she blurted out, “Okay.”
Dammit. Who can even say no to him when he talks like that?

Chapter 229 Let’s Start with Love
The words had barely left her mouth before Freya felt like smacking herself. But then agama what Louis said wasn’t wrong.
Dating didn’t mean anything had to be final. If they didn’t work out, they could break Besides, with Louis’s character, she wasn’t afraid he’d ever hurt her.
Alright then. That was that. He already knew everything about her situation, so why not date first and see?
Seeing Freya’s conflicted expression slowly settle into determination and relief, Louis’s eyes twinkled with amusement. It reminded him of raising a kitten as a child–at first it wouldn’t let you near, then eventually it let you pet it. With enough patience and coaxing, it would fully warm up to you. And when that happened, you could pet and cuddle it however you liked.
As for divorce? Ha–maybe in the next life.
With that, the two of them had reached their first official agreement. Freya was still recovering and couldn’t do any exercise. She wanted to take the chance to write a bit, but Louis wouldn’t allow it.
“Lunch is almost ready. Rest for a bit. Why don’t we chat instead?”
“About what?”
“Anything.”
Louis wasn’t the type to enjoy idle conversation. He usually found small talk to be a waste of time.
But thanks to how his parents raised him, in his eyes, a partner was a special person—and not part of the “waste of time” category.
“If we’re going to chat, I honestly don’t know where to start.” It wasn’t that Freya lacked things to say–she just didn’t know how to talk to a new boyfriend. This was totally foreign territory.
