Chapter 234 Don’t Worry, Mr Zane
When they arrived on set, Zane rushed over the moment he saw them. “I’ve been absolutely swamped these past two days and haven’t even asked yet–how’s Freya’s injury? I feel terrible: I must seem so irresponsible. Mr. Graham, I hope you don’t mind.”
“It’s fine. I know you’ve been busy. The wound’s healing; it’ll just take time,” Louis replied, setting Freya down beneath the caves of an old building. Zane quickly called someone over to bring her a stool so she could sit.
“I told her to rest up a bit more, but she insisted on coming back to work–didn’t want to hold anything up. I’ll have to trouble you to keep an extra eye on her,” Louis said as he placed Freya’s belongings next to her—snacks, drinks, and her usual little things.
“Oh, missing a day or two isn’t a big deal. Honestly, the injury was partly our fault for not coordinating better. Of course her recovery comes first–no rush on set matters.”
“It’s really no trouble, Mr. Zane, I’m fine. I’m just not that mobile, so people might need to come to me to discuss scripts. Sorry for the inconvenience–hope you can pass the word along.”
“Of course, no problem at all. I’ll let everyone know to come find you. It won’t be an issue,” Zane said, then added with praise, “It’s rare these days to find someone as responsible as Freya. If everyone had this kind of work ethic, our production efficiency would skyrocket.”
“You flatter me, Mr. Zane. I’m just doing what I should.” Freya didn’t want to accept the compliment too easily; it made it sound like everyone else was slacking.
Louis chatted with Zane a little longer before the latter had to leave to handle something else. Louis didn’t try to stop him; after Zane walked away, he turned back to Freya and spoke seriously.
“Don’t worry, I’m not about to mess around with my health. I promise I won’t move or run around needlessly. If I need anything, I’ll ask someone for help. Worst case, I’ll offer a little tip. I’ve got it all in mind.” Freya nodded repeatedly, signaling she’d committed everything to
memory.
“Do you want anything else to eat? I can send someone to grab it.”
“There’s already a bunch of snacks here–enough to keep me going all day. And you already ordered lunch for me, right? I’ve got everything I need.” Freya knew he was just worried, so she held up three fingers and made a playful vow,

“I promise, if anything comes up, I’ll call you right away. I swear I’ll turn to you for help- deal?”
She looked so sweet and earnest that Louis sighed and patted her head. “Alright.
He should’ve left already, but he just couldn’t bring himself to go. In the end, it was Freya who had to nudge him.
“Don’t you still have tons to deal with at the company? You already stayed an extra day- don’t waste any more time here. I’m fine, really. Go focus on work. Didn’t you say you’re buying me a villa? Gotta hustle if you want those dollars rolling in.”
A smile flickered in Louis‘ eyes. He nodded. “Alright, I’ll head out then. Take care of yourself. I’ll work hard–try to buy you even more things, and soon.”
“You’re the best!” Freya gave him a cheerful fist pump.
Louis made sure she wasn’t missing anything one last time. Just as he turned to leave, someone suddenly called out to Freya.
“Freya, I didn’t expect to see you here too!”
The voice sounded familiar, but Louis couldn’t place it right away. He turned to look and saw a woman. After a moment, he remembered–he’d seen her before at Freya’s school.
Freya blinked in surprise. “Sophia?”
Ever since they’d run into each other at Aiden’s school, Sophia had occasionally messaged her–always about trivial stuff. Freya had never felt like they had much in common.
But for some reason, Sophia was oddly persistent about chatting with her. Even when there wasn’t anything to say, she’d force a conversation. Most of it revolved around the shows she’d acted in, to the point where Freya ended up watching quite a few of them–whether she wanted to or not.
Truthfully, Sophia’s acting skills were pretty mediocre. She only came off well in her last drama because the role of the supporting female character happened to suit her image; otherwise, it wouldn’t have worked.
