Chapter 247 Acting Cool
Once Sophia had convinced herself of that idea, her mood lifted considerably. She didn’t even care that Louis hadn’t said a single word to her from beginning to end–it was Freya who’d been talking to her.
Just a soon–to–be ex–wife. She thought.
Sophia couldn’t be bothered to get into it with Freya. Thinking she’d uncovered the truth of the matter, her expression even softened a little.
Freya, on the other hand, had no clue why Sophia suddenly looked so cheerful just because she couldn’t get her hands on a game pod. In any case, she didn’t make any promises on Louis‘ behalf.
“Yeah, that’s just how it is lately. I mean, the game just launched, right? Give it some time. Don’t worry too much, even if you got one now, you’re so busy, you wouldn’t have time to play anyway, right?”
Sophia’s expression shifted for a moment. Was that a jab at my acting? Saying I’m always stuck during shoots because I’m not skilled enough? But isn’t that just because Freya won’t share any info
about Louis?
But it didn’t matter anymore. They were getting divorced anyway. Soon, she’d be stepping into the spotlight as the female lead. What was a couple days of putting up with this nobody?
She comforted herself with that thought and, deliberately angling her face to show what she thought was her best side to Louis, she smiled sweetly.
“You’ve got a point. I am in the middle of building my career, and I’ll only get busier. If I end up working with some unreliable crew, that’s just more work on my plate. Still, VR MMO is just too impressive–I really want to give it a try.”
“Then just wait a bit. When you have more free time and your turn in line finally comes, you’ll be able to enjoy it to the fullest.” Freya smiled back just as sweetly.

“Alright, I’ll take your advice. I’ll leave you two to chat–I should head back. We’ve gotta finish the shoot today; no more delays.” Sophia didn’t want to slow down the pore of Louis‘ divorce, so she left decisively. Her mood had clearly improved, and all the slu in over the past few days seemed to vanish.
Meanwhile, a group of actors watching from a short distance away were still gossiping.

“I mean, Sophia’s not bad–looking, and there were rumors she had a natural talent for acting. But who would’ve thought it’d take her this long just to play a cameo role? Mr. Zane’s been in a bad mood these days–and it’s all because of her.”
Those machines burn through cash like nothing, and this one guest role keeps running into problems. Of course he’s in a bad mood!”

“Goes to show how much you can trust entertainment gossip–probably all just PR spin, or trending topics paid for by actors or their agencies. Honestly, I’m really curious what Sophia’s witch character is gonna look like in the end. Is it really gonna be that good? Good enough for Mr. Zane to be unwilling to replace her?”
who pushed person “From what I heard, it’s not that Mr. Zane won’t replace her–it’s that the Sophia into the production has some serious connections. Mr. Zane just doesn’t want to offend them. That’s how it goes with pretty actresses, huh.”
“What I find weird is that Sophia and the screenwriter don’t even seem that close, so why is she always trying to cozy up to her? I was nearby once and overheard them talking–it sounded exhausting.”
“You never know. Maybe Sophia’s looking for a scapegoat. If her acting bombs, she can just blame it on the writer. But our screenwriter doesn’t seem dumb–no way she’d fall for that. Doesn’t matter to us anyway. We’re just small fry–nobody’s going to waste time scheming against us. Whatever drama goes down, it’s got nothing to do with us.”
“I just find it entertaining. Watching them sometimes makes me feel like my own life isn’t so bad–at least I don’t have all that drama. But then again, thinking that probably just means I’m kind of dumb, which isn’t great either.”

“That feeling of being the only sober one in a room full of drunks–love it. But I’d bet no one dares mess with the screenwriter. She’s got backing, after all.”
