Chapter 328 The Intervention
The door swung open again, and both women turned to see Louis entering.
Grace seized her chance. “Louis! She just admitted it–she only married you for your money! She’s a gold digger!”
Louis paused, taking in Freya’s exasperated expression. Without asking for details, he replied, “I know. And I’m glad she finds me useful. As long as she doesn’t leave, I don’t care what she wants from me.” His tone cooled. “Also, Ms. Grace, we’re not on a first–name basis. It’s Mr. Graham.
A portly man huffed in behind Louis, mopping his brow. “Mr. Graham, thank heavens you caught that discrepancy! The company would’ve lost millions otherwise. You can afford the hit, but me? I’d be ruined!”
Spotting Grace, he froze. “Grace? What are you doing here?” Then his eyes landed on Freya, and his face lit up. “This must be Mrs. Graham! I’ve heard so much about you. Even more beautiful than they say! Truly a perfect match for Mr. Graham.”
“Dad!” Grace’s voice cracked with frustration.
rv will get you
everywhere, Mr. Owen,” Freya said lightly.
Owen Marshall ignored his daughter, continuing brightly, “Grace, shouldn’t you be working on those reports? Mrs. Graham is busy–no time for social calls.”
I knew exactly what my daughter was thinking and wanting, but Mr. Graham’s words had been crystal clear, he’d made his disinterest unmistakably obvious. For my daughter’s reputation, and to avoid unnecessary complications, the wiser course is clearly to play dumb.
Grace opened her mouth to explain, but Owen steamrolled over her, knowing that his daughter was just pretending as a professional but inwardly just a pure girl.
“Enough! Your work is piling up, yet here you are bothering Mr. Graham? Go! Now!”
Turning to Louis, he adopted a sheepish grin. “Forgive her, Mr. Graham. Only child, spoiled rotten by her mother and me. Studied abroad–got some funny ideas. No offense meant.”
Louis remained impassive, watching Freya.
She shrugged. “No offense taken. A doting father is better than an absent one. Thoug sometimes lessons are necessary, no matter how old the child is.”

Chapter 828 The Intervention
Grace bristled. “I don’t need lessons! You’re younger than me! What would you know?
“Grace!” Owen barked before forcing a chuckle. “Mrs. Graham is right. I’ll have a talk with her later.”
With that, he dragged his fuming daughter away.
Once they were gone, Louis settled beside Freya. “She gave you trouble?”
