Chapter 347: Beauty, Brains, and Backlash
“Knew it! My Biggie is the ultimate triple threat–beauty, brains, and background. To everyone who trashed her before… how’s that crow taste? Mmm, delicious.”
“I don’t care, I don’t care–I just want Biggie in the entertainment industry! She’s too gorgeous. Like, prettier than A–listers. And she doesn’t even look like she’s had work done. I mean–HOW?!
even
“I believe she’s got a powerful background. No ordinary girl looks like that. Who could afford to raise someone this stunning without serious money?”
“Biggie, you have my heart forever! Time to start taking better care of myself. Gotta level up and become a pretty girl too!”
Sure enough, the moment the production team released their statement, the narrative flipped on a dime. Most of the people who were dragging Freya before? Now backpedaling hard. And the ones who still kept spewing hate? Everyone else just pegged them as hired trolls.
“Hey, people still hating on the author–how much are you getting paid? Can you hook me up too? I’ll take anything, even a buck. Money’s tight, you know? Don’t be stingy, share the gig.”
“A gorgeous, talented woman with connections–and you’re still trying to take her down? If that’s not a paid smear job, I’ll delete Twitter right now.”
“Let’s be real. Even if she did pull strings for the role–so what? She absolutely outclassed Sophia. Anyone who’s read the novel can tell she is that character. Period.”

“Used to like Sophia, but now? Hard pass. All that talk about her amazing acting… yeah, right She couldn’t even compete with someone who’s not even an actress. Goes to show, in this industry, image sells more than skill.”
Freya stopped scrolling. She didn’t need to read more–she already knew what the comments would say. In the end, most people didn’t care about the truth. They just wanted a good spectacle.
Her enthusiasm dimmed. Writing novels was so much simpler, so much more joyful. None of this drama, none of this noise.

But that’s life.
Once you’re out in the world, you get caught up in the pull of profit, competition, and ego. It never ends. She was just lucky Louis had her back. The production team wouldn’t dare screw her over–not with Louis watching their every move.
If this had been her old life, it would’ve been a completely different story. Back then, they probably would’ve thrown her under the bus just to keep the peace.
What a mess.
Freya sighed, tossed her phone aside, and went back to her computer. Time to write. At least that still made her happy.
Unfortunately, peace didn’t last long.
Her phone buzzed with new notifications. She sighed, picked it up–turns out more people from the production team had come out to support her.
Violet had retweeted the official statement with a personal comment:
@OneFreya Just saw everything while on break. Freya, you’re amazing–so beautiful, so warm, and such a badass when it counts. I seriously adore you.
Violet was a rising star with tons of fans, so once she spoke up, her followers rushed in like a
wave:
“If Pumpkin Pie says she’s cool, then she’s cool. No further questions. We stan!”
“Just caught up on the drama–man, showbiz is a snake pit. But it’s okay. Our Pumpkin Pie is a beam of white light. Gotta back that author now. Love you, Pie!”
someone’s good, they’re “Pumpkin Pie is gorgeous and always speaks the truth. If she s. good. That’s it. No brain cells required. I support her and her new bestie!”
“Biggie fan here–thank you, Ms. Violet! Wishing your friendship a thousand years of glory!
