Chapter 364
Chapter 364
When Louis said that line, Freya froze. “You know about that?”
Before she could recover, Louis effortlessly pushed her against the back of the sofa in a minimalist version of a kabedon and added with a straight face:
“Woman, you’ve successfully caught my attention.”
Trapped between the couch and Louis, Freya stared at him in utter disbelief. He actually pulled off that shamelessly, almost infuriatingly handsome look. It took her a full five seconds before she found her voice again.
“No! Let me go! You already have someone you like–I won’t be a stand–in!”
Louis replied, “I concede defeat.”
Freya couldn’t hold back any longer; she burst out laughing right in his arms. Between fits of laughter, she managed to ask, “Oh my, how do you even know that line? I can’t–this is killing me!”
“With a partner who writes novels every day,” Louis said, releasing her as he adjusted his tie with a smile, “I have to make sure I don’t sound like a complete idiot when I open my
mouth.”
“If that’s how it works, does that mean I should start studying business?” Freya considered it for a second before shaking her head. “Nope, way too much for a little fairy to handle. Little fairies can’t”
Louis couldn’t resist kissing her forehead again. “No need. Coming down to the mortal world is hard enough on a fairy already. Let me, a humble mortal, make money to support her.”
“You got this, humble mortal!” Freya raised a fist to cheer him on.
Finally, the two of them got back into work mode, but Freya kept sneaking glances at Louis, unable to hide the smile tugging at her lips and the warmth in her eyes.
Her heart was overflowing with sweetness. So even a man like him wanted his girlfriend to be soft and clingy; he wanted to cuddle and tease and have a sweet, silly kind of love.
Thinking back to how Louis had been keeping up his cold persona, patiently waiting for her to open up. Freya found him unbelievably adorable.
Louis, for his part, felt every one of those glances. The smile at the corners of his mouth never faded. He admitted it, he wanted Freya’s attention all to himself. He’d been holding back for so long.

Chapter 364
But while one side was basking in sugar–sweet romance, the other side was caught in a storm.
Ethan’s voice boomed through the room. “You’re saying you invited Sebastian to dinner and he refused? Why? Is he not treating you the same way anymore? Look at you–this is what happens when you care more about pride than results! Enough talk. Tomorrow, you’re going to see him in person. No matter what, you’ve got to lock this relationship down.”
“Dad, what girl does stuff like that? Throwing herself at a guy like it’s a business deal?” Dean, now snapped back to reality, was practically losing his mind.
Back when they were kids, Ethan had been busy with work and his own pleasures; their mom was caught up in shopping and appearances. No one really looked after Dean and his sister. He’d basically raised Savannah himself. If not for that, she wouldn’t have kept going back to Sebastian just to get favors for him.
He didn’t mind taking advantage of his sister, but the thought of her actually being wronged made him furious.
“Hmph. And what has she ever done for this family? Was I raising her just to feed her for nothing? I told her to agree to the proposal back then and she refused. Now look where we are–it’s all her fault!” Ethan’s voice was cruel and merciless.
“Save it. You’re going to Sebastian tomorrow. My guess is that old bastard from the Wells family is keeping a close eye on him tonight, so don’t waste your time. Just make sure you lock that man down–otherwise, your sister’s finished.”
“Dad, it’s not that serious. I’m already talking to Qingin. As long as I use the kid as leverage, she’ll have no choice but to give in. I’ve got a plan for Twitter too. If you hadn’t dragged me back here so early, I might’ve had it all handled by now.”
Before Dean even finished, Ethan grabbed a cushion off the couch and hurled it at him.
“Idiot! You think you can fix everything after you’ve provoked Louis? What kind of delusional confidence is that? That man ties his business interests directly to the government! His methods aren’t something a fool like you can even comprehend! The Womez family’s been butting heads with us nonstop, and I’ve been watching every angle like a hawk to prevent any missteps. And now? You’ve gone and ruined everything!”
