Chapter 368 Kendrick Mourns a Hang–up Like a Breakup
Freya thought back for a moment, she had never experienced anything like this before. So, this wasn’t some kind of standard treatment.
She’d heard of some rich families doing this sort of thing, but it was the first time it had ever happened to her.
“Oh wow, people were right after all,” Freya muttered to herself with a sigh.
Louis didn’t catch what she meant. “What?”
“When someone really likes you, they’ll think of everything for you. There’s no such thing as a clueless guy–only a guy pretending not to understand because he doesn’t like you,” Freya said with a grin, tilting her head up.
Louis flicked her gently on the forehead, his tone indulgent. “And who do you think I’m doing all this for?”
“For me. Just for me. I’m so lucky,” she said cheerfully.
What girl didn’t love pretty clothes? Freya was just too lazy to shop, that’s all. Now that they were delivering magazines straight to her door and even offering to tailor everything to her size, of course, she was going to enjoy the convenience.
“No rush,” she said. “Let’s eat first–your congee’s gonna get cold.” Louis tapped the table to bring her back to the meal.

Marilyn left the room beaming. Seeing Freya and Louis getting along so wel together, brought a warmth to the house that hadn’t been there before. She was more delighted than anyone.
“Oh right, how about, we get a ragdoll cat?” Freya suggested after dinner, blinking her big eyes at Louis like she was trying to charm him.
“Of course. If one’s not enough, you can get more.” Louis wasn’t allergic, so he didn’t mind at all. And if it ever became too much, they could just hire someone to help take care of them.
“If you want a high–quality ragdoll, have Derek help you contact a reputable breeder.”
Then he suddenly added, “Actually, how about I hire you a few assistants? Two for your daily life, two for your work–and maybe a few staffers to accompany you. That way, once the family business grows bigger, you’ll be safer and more supported.”
Freya’s jaw dropped. “Me? Assistants?”

“Yeah. That way, anything you need, they’ll be there to help. You won’t have to stress over the little stuff,” Louis explained, already mentally vetting possible candidates, he’d just remembered and decided to bring it up now.
“That’s a bit much, isn’t it? I don’t really have much going on,” Freya said. She’d never imagined needing something as extravagant as a team of assistants.
“But you’re going to be a screenwriter, right? There’ll be plenty to keep you busy. You should be free to enjoy life. Take time for beauty treatments, go out and have fun. If you need research or materials, your assistants can take care of it. Your life should be more colorful, more relaxed.”
Everything seemed fine for now, but Louis still worried Freya might one day grow tired of the simple day–to–day. He wanted her life to blend fully with his, and to enjoy all the richness the world could offer. He hadn’t had time to sort everything out before, but now he was slowly going to ease her into a high–efficiency, elevated lifestyle.
“I just can’t picture myself walking around with assistants.” The whole idea was way beyond anything she’d imagined.
“That’s okay. Fairies aren’t supposed to deal with mundane stuff anyway. Leave the boring things to us ordinary mortals.” Louis just needed her to accept it.
And of course, in the end, Freya agreed. That day turned into yet another one of her going to the office with Louis.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Kendrick stared at his phone in shock for a full ten seconds.
Baylon, who was sitting next to him, smacked him on the shoulder, baffled.
“What’s wrong? You talk to Louis on the phone and it knocked your soul out of your body? What did he tell you to do?”
“Louis hung up on me!” Kendrick practically jumped up, his voice way too loud. “He actually hung up on me! Sure, he used to complain about me, but he never hung up on me!”
