“Well if it isn’t Ms. Sophia! Just yesterday I was saying how great your drama was, and now I get to meet you in person. That’s fate, isn’t it, Ms. Sophia?” The greasy man raised his glass and clinked it against Sophia’s.
“I only watched Ms. Sophia’s show this morning. Great acting, really,” the man with the unruly charm chimed in. “But more than that, you’re gorgeous. And now here you are, like heaven read my mind and sent you to me. I absolutely must get a chance to take you to dinner.”
He clinked glasses with her too, smiling in a way that made Sophia’s skin crawl. “Would you do me the honor, Ms. Sophia?”
She didn’t know whether to nod or shake her head. For a second, she wanted to throw her drink in their faces. But she couldn’t risk it. She didn’t think either of them was the hidden character, but to be safe, she still asked the system:
“These guys aren’t the hidden character you mentioned… right?”
“Neither of them matches. No indicators at all.” The system gave a firm answer.
Sophia exhaled in relief. Good. If either of them had been the one, she would’ve rather gone back to trying to win over Louis.
Since they weren’t, she turned on her charm. “Oh, gentlemen, you flatter me too much. You’re both busy men with businesses to run, and yet you still find time to watch my dramas? That’s a huge honor. As for dinner, well, if your schedules allow, I’ll speak to my agent. If there’s no conflict, I’d be happy to.”
“People say Ms. Sophia is hard to approach, but clearly they’re wrong. You’re so sweet and charming,” the greasy one said, leaning in closer. “What perfume are you wearing? Smells amazing.”
Sophia nearly jumped out of her seat. She forced herself to ignore the rising disgust and the urge to slap the man. Somehow, she kept smiling.
“Oh, I’m not sure what it’s called. A friend gave it to me. But I’m glad you like it–must be a lucky scent.”
“Ha! That sweet mouth of yours,” the greasy man laughed. He kept leaning closer–his hand almost brushing her arm.
Sophia couldn’t take it anymore. She suddenly stood and, pretending to be pleasantly surprised, called out, “Mr. Graham!”

Then, with an apologetic smile to the two men, she added, “I’m so sorry, I need to excuse myself. You two enjoy.”
The men blinked, just realizing she was heading straight for Louis. They exchanged a glance, then shifted their eyes to Louis, curious to see how he’d react.
Louis hadn’t heard her at first. It wasn’t until she walked up and called his name again that he realized she was talking to him.
His memory was sharp. A quick frown and a moment of thought, and he remembered exactly who Sophia was–and all the times she’d tried to smear Freya online or cozy up to her in person. His patience instantly wore thin.
He didn’t believe for a second that Sophia had approached him by accident. It was obvious she was playing some kind of game. What kind of person would force her way into an event like this just to see Freya?
If Sophia had known what Louis was thinking, she would’ve burst into tears on the spot. It was such a massive misunderstanding.
Sophia wasn’t trying to pull anything. She didn’t care about Louis right now. All she wanted was to shake off those two creepy men. She had no idea who they were, but if they were here, chances were they weren’t people she could afford to offend. So the only option left was to borrow someone else’s presence.
