Chapter 50 Visitors

Freya wasn’t mad about the critique of her novel. All she wanted was to explain to Louis that her stories were meant to be more romantic than realistic. If she wrote a CEO romance that followed the logic of actual corporate life, the whole thing would be riddled with plot holes–and nobody would read it! Unfortunately, big shots like him didn’t understand web novels, and she couldn’t really explain it to him.
A few days later, early in the morning, just after Louis finished breakfast but hadn’t left the house yet, there was a sudden knock at the door. Freya had just finished washing the dishes and went to answer it out of habit.
“Who is it?” she asked, muttering to herself, “Weird, who’d be here this early in the morning?”
The person outside didn’t respond and just kept knocking. Freya peeked through the peephole and saw two young men outside. One looked effortlessly cool, the other a little more playful, but both were ridiculously handsome–like the kind of guys you’d see starring in movies. Just a glance made it obvious they weren’t average people.
The one knocking was the more energetic–looking of the two. Freya didn’t have time to admire them–her heart gave a jolt. She turned and rushed to Louis‘ bedroom door, knocking quickly.
“Big guy, someone’s at the door–two really good–looking guys. Come see if they’re here for you!”
Louis let go of his mouse and stood up, finding Freya looking worried.
“There are two men outside, and they definitely don’t look ordinary. See if they’re your friends. I don’t recognize them.”
What Freya didn’t say out loud was that she was scared–scared they might be here to cause trouble. Her mind was already racing, brainstorming ways to handle the situation if things went south.
