Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 783

Chapter 783

Once off the phone, she gazed out the window the vibrant city lights dancing in her eyes, yet her gaze was icy and detached.

Back in high school, she had stumbled upon the truth about her father’s mistress. It came as a shocking revelation, hitting her like a blow to the stomach. Until then, her family had appeared a flawless and idyllic unit, and she had held the conviction that her father was deeply in love with her mother.

But then she saw him, all cuddled up with his mistress. She’d never seen him that tender with her mom.

She was terrified of telling her mom, torn between pain and indecision. She tried to get the other woman to back off, to save their family.

She went all ninja on them, stalking and taking pictures as evidence.

But when she confronted her dad, he just shrugged and said her mom knew about it.

Not only that, her mom had her own side piece.

She didn’t buy it, thought her dad was just trying to pass the buck. Until he showed her, her mom all lovey-dovey with another man in a villa and they didn’t come out all night.

She was blown away. So all her family love was just a sham

Her dad told her their marriage was a business arrangement, they never had feelings for each other, and they both had their own sweethearts before the wedding.

Their post-wedding agreement was to live their own lives and just keep up the marriage facade.

She couldn’t wrap her head around it. She asked them, if you don’t love each other, why not just get a divorce?

Her dad said their joint business venture was too tangled, and divorce wasn’t an option. Plus, they didn’t think there was anything wrong with their arrangement and they still got frisky together, but there was no expectation of loyalty.

Amiee still couldn’t accept it, seeing them chat and cuddle like nothing happened made her sick.

She moved out on her own when she went to college, then started making her own money, bought her own place, and hardly ever went home.
