Her Return, His Regret novel Chapter 110

“So, are you going to tell me how you figured out I was Larisa?” Lora asked Ryan for the umpteenth time.

They were on their way back to Moonstone City and she kept trying to find out how Ryan found out who she really was.

However, Ryan kept dodging the question and talking about something else. This made Lora suspicious and she was now more interested in knowing.

“I know you hired someone to investigate me but you couldn’t have found anything. My uncle is an excellent tech guy. He can make anyone disappear,” Lora remarked.

She sat back in her comfortable leather chair in the private jet, giving Ryan a side glance.

“Come on, tell me. I want to know… I don’t think it’s Ivy. She wouldn’t have wanted you to know who I really was,” Lora added.

Ryan’s eyes slightly widened. He looked at Lora and asked, “Ivy had known about you and the kids earlier?”

He thought she found out when she kidnapped Lora. Once again, Ryan's heart was completely filled with guilt. If only he hadn't fallen for Ivy's deception... everything would have been avoided. However, in real life, there are no ifs. Only regrets.

Lora nodded and replied, “Yes, she did. She saw the kids and put two and two together.”

Ryan gritted his teeth before saying, “Damn… I was careless. Ivy could have done so much to hurt you guys. Luckily, I found out before it was too late-”

“Mr Kingsley, don’t change the subject here. How did you find out?” Lora asked again.

Ryan sighed, feeling conflicted. He didn’t want to hide anything from Lora, but his friend would also get in trouble with Bianca if she found out he had installed a spy app on her phone.

“Do you think I don’t deserve to know the truth?”

“What? No… no, baby. You do… I just… I saw the children too,” Ryan replied. “Ethan looked so much like me… I knew the moment I laid my eyes on the twins. I knew they were mine and I confirmed my suspicions about you being Larisa.”

Lora furrowed her eyebrows. She asked, “How did you see them?”

“I saw their pictures in Adan’s phone. He…” Ryan sighed before telling Lora everything.

Deep down, he secretly said, ‘I’m sorry, Adan. But I have to break the bro code, I can’t keep this from her.’

“What?” Lora exclaimed, anger flashing through her eyes. “That’s so wrong! How can you invade someone’s privacy like that?”

“I know, love. Adan said it was the fastest way to find out if you were really Larisa. We were desperate,” Ryan replied, guilt creeping into him.

Lora sighed, her eyebrows furrowing. She said, “I have to tell Bianca. She deserves to know the truth.”

Ryan nodded and replied, “You’re right… I’ll tell Adan to talk to her and apologise. But I don’t regret anything… I found you even though you were hiding from me.”

Lora smiled and remarked, “I was determined to never let you find out about me…”

Sadness crept into Ryan at those words. But he understood where Lora was coming from. He had hurt her so much in the past, it was no wonder she didn’t want anything to do with him when she returned.

Looking into her eyes, he stated, “I’m grateful you gave me another chance… second chances are hard to come by, and the fact that you agreed to open your heart to me again just shows how kind and loving you are. Thank you for forgiving me, my love.”
