Ryan and his two groomsmen sat in a private room at the club, drinking whiskey and playing poker as soft music played in the background.
Adan threw the stack of cards on the table in frustration and said, “Come on, Ryan! When you said you wanted to have a bachelor party since you never had one before you got married, I thought it was going to be wild man… Drinks, women- all the fun stuff. I can’t believe you want to play poker during your bachelor party.”
Ryan frowned at his friend and replied, “Did you just say women? I’m a married man… I can’t hang out with other women. What if Lora leaves me again?”
Adan rolled his eyes. “You won’t be cheating… it’s just to liven up the environment. This is boring, man.”
“Of course, players like you would find this boring. Have you seen Aiden complaining?” Ryan asked and Aiden arched an eyebrow.
He smirked and asked, “Shouldn’t you call me Uncle?”
Adan laughed out loud. He exclaimed, “Yeah! Ryan, you’re supposed to respect the elders of the family. Wait a minute… is that why you’re pretending to enjoy poker right now? Because your wife’s uncle is around?”
Ryan glared at Adan and said, “No, I’m not. Don’t make it sound like I always have women around.”
“Let’s have fun, bro… I’ll invite a few people. You don’t have to interact with them if you don’t want to. I’m sure Lora is having fun too,” Adan suggested.
Ryan shook his head. “Nope. I’m not inviting any other women. I promised Lora I won’t ever get entangled with women. Besides, she’s probably also drinking with Diane and Bianca.”
“Diane has hired some male dancers though,” Aiden suddenly said.
“What?” Ryan asked, his eyes widening.
“I heard her say it was going to be a wild night,” Aiden remarked and flicked his wrist to glance at his watch. “The dancers should be arriving at the venue soon. I wonder… could they be male stripers?”
Ryan clenched his jaw and almost crushed his glass of whiskey.
…
Meanwhile, Diane had booked a luxurious suite at one of the five-star hotels for Lora’s bachelorette party.
Lora glanced at the place that was decorated with balloons, ribbons and confetti before giving her sister-in-law a questioning look.
“Isn’t this too much?”
“Too much? I wanted to do more but I had to hold myself back!” Diane exclaimed excitedly. “Relax, Lora. This is your night to let loose before you're tied down for eternity!”
“I’m already tied down though… legally, I’m still married to your brother,” Lora replied in amusement. “And who are these people?”
There were a few ladies in the room who were chatting and drinking champagne.
“Oh, just some people I invited to liven up the mood,” Diane remarked. “You don’t need to know them… they know you.”
Someone came to them and smiled at Lora before saying, “Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, Lora.”
“Um, thank you…” Lora replied.
“You see,” Diane said when the lady walked away.
Bianca chipped in, “I must say, you’re very good at throwing parties. Let’s not just stand around here… let the party begin!”
The ladies wore matching shimmering black dresses. Lora had a white satin sash with the words, I am the bride on it. Diane and Bianca’s sash had the words, I am the bridesmaid on them.
They began to take wine as they chatted about this and that. Diane suddenly looked at her watch and said, “The real fun is about to start!”
Lora narrowed her eyes at Diane, getting suspicious of her excitement.
