Mr. Norman, She's Out of Your League Now novel Chapter 21

"Of course!"

Amber agreed after giving it some thought. "I'll listen to Mommy! When outsiders are around, I'll call you Lottie and pretend I'm a relative's child."

When Charlotte saw how intelligent and adorable she was, her heart melted. She hugged and kissed Amber. "My sweetie is so smart!"

Then she lifted her up, dried her off, and carried her back to the bedroom to sleep.

The next morning, after breakfast, Charlotte prepared to head to her research institute.

Before leaving, she reminded her daughter, "Amber, I'll be busy this afternoon and won't be able to come home for lunch, but I'll try to come home early for dinner."

Amber nodded obediently and said sweetly, "Don't worry about me, Mommy! I've already planned my activities. I'll have Mrs. Jones and the bodyguard take me out. I even found a bunch of restaurants to try. If they're good, I'll take you there next time!"

Charlotte couldn't help but giggle at Amber, whose eyes were sparkling with excitement at the mention of food.

She teased, "I see you're using the excuse of missing me as a cover. You came here to eat and have fun, am I right?"

Hearing that, Amber immediately waved her tiny hands and explained, "Of course not! I really miss you! Eating and having fun are secondary to you!"

"You're such a sweet talker." Charlotte playfully poked her nose.

Then, she reminded Rose, "Please keep a close eye on Amber. Don't let her do anything dangerous. Call me if anything comes up."

Rose smiled. "Don't worry, Ms. Howard. I understand."

Charlotte naturally trusted Rose.

Then, without wasting more time, she left the house.

She reached the branch research institution at 9:00 am.

When she arrived, the entire crew, led by Anna, came out to greet her.

Charlotte exchanged brief pleasantries with the management team before dismissing them, keeping only the core research team working with her.

Initially, the lead developers were skeptical. Seeing how young she was, they assumed she was just a figurehead.

So their attitudes toward her were a bit dismissive.
