Mr. Norman, She's Out of Your League Now novel Chapter 42

Lydia's attempt to smooth things over was met with nothing but ice-cold rejection from Brian.

His voice was sharp and unrelenting."And you—get out. What reason do you even have to be here? She was right. If you're ignorant, then stay quiet and stop getting in the way. Apologize to Dr. Mandy. Then leave."

There was no room for argument in Brian's tone, only ice-cold command.

Lydia's face was drained of color. He was making her apologize, too? On what grounds? Everything she'd done was for him! How could he humiliate her like this?

Resentment boiled inside her, but she didn't dare defy Brian. In the end, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and apologize to Charlotte.

After taking a deep, shaky breath, she forced a stiff smile and muttered, "I…I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I acted out of line."

Charlotte caught every ounce of reluctance in her voice and didn't bother hiding her disdain. "Save it. I don't need your fake apology. Just get out of my sight. You're making me nauseous."

"You—" Lydia was so furious she could barely hold her expression together.

Before the situation could spiral any further, Henry stepped in and gently but firmly intervened.

"Ms. Perry, please leave. Don't interfere while Dr. Mandy treats Mr. Norman."

Lydia bit down hard on her lip, and her chest heaved with suppressed anger.

But no matter how humiliated she felt, she didn't dare throw a tantrum in front of Brian. She had no choice but to turn around and leave.
