Liam didn't say a word. He simply stared at the silver needles in Brian's back, lost in thought.
Estelle, on the other hand, seemed convinced by Lydia's words and was just about to speak when Kayden's voice suddenly rang out.
"Shut your mouth!" He was absolutely livid.
Lydia had shoved Charlotte without so much as an apology, and now she had the nerve to question her?
Burning with anger, Kayden stepped forward, ready to defend Charlotte—but this time, she didn't need anyone's help.
Her voice was like an icy blade, sharp and merciless. "If you're so ignorant, then keep your mouth shut. I'm not here to educate fools. All this noise is giving me a headache."
The words hit like a slap. Lydia and Estelle's faces darkened instantly.
Estelle was stunned. She had never been spoken to like this in her life, especially not by some young doctor. Furious, she snapped, "How dare you!"
Lydia's glare was sharp enough to cut glass. "How can you speak to Mrs. Norman like that?"
Charlotte met their fury without flinching. Her tone turned colder still.
"And who gave you the right to speak to me like that?
"Since when do either of you have the authority to judge my treatment methods? Are you more qualified than I am? If you're so confident, why don't you come over here and treat him yourselves?"
Henry, standing to the side, barely dared to breathe. One thing was certain—if Lydia kept pushing, Charlotte would walk out without a second glance.
Lydia was utterly humiliated. Her face twisted with rage.
She already hated the idea of any woman getting close to Brian—and now this unknown doctor was practically glued to his side. Who knew what might happen if they continued like this?
