Mr. Norman, She's Out of Your League Now novel Chapter 84

Brian's voice cut through the argument, stopping everyone in their tracks. All eyes turned toward him, including Charlotte's.

Lydia's expression changed slightly. She hadn't expected Brian to come back so soon. Didn't that mean... he'd run into Charlotte?

Charlotte's gaze toward Brian was ice cold. The moment she saw the table setup inside the private room earlier, she had figured he was probably here. And as expected...

Noticing Charlotte's look, Lydia assumed she was trying to rekindle something with Brian, so she immediately stepped closer to his side and said in a sweet tone, "Brian, what took you so long? Is Kayden okay? I was really worried..."

She deliberately softened her voice to make it sound like the two of them were in some affectionate relationship, but Brian didn't even look at her. He repeated, "What's going on here?"

His voice was noticeably colder than before.

That was when Estelle stepped in and answered, "What else could it be? We just ran into an ungrateful brat, that's what."

She then recounted everything that had just happened, including the part where Charlotte supposedly "insulted" her.

When she finished, she snorted. "Lydia was just being nice, greeting someone who clearly doesn't deserve it. If it were me, I wouldn't have given her the time of day. Thank goodness you divorced her back then. I'd never be able to sleep at night having a daughter-in-law like that."

Brian hadn't expected so much drama to unfold in the short time he was gone. His brows furrowed tightly. He had never realized just how harsh and venomous Estelle could be.

Seeing Estelle taking a strong stance, Lydia's mood lifted. It looked like Charlotte's behavior tonight had finally made the Norman family see her true colors.
