Half a month had passed in the blink of an eye.
Vivian had been staying at Galaxy Villa for the past two weeks, and today, she was finally going to visit Janine. Steven's son, Jamie Sullivan, would join her and the others.
Harvey had come to pick her up. Though Vivian could drive—and was even an avid participant in racing competitions—she had never shared this with Janine and the others, worried they'd fret over her safety. She loved the thrill of speed.
However, Janine and the others were always anxious that something might befall her, just as it had with Skylar and Joe, who had mysteriously vanished.
As they drove, Harvey played some soft music.
"How's the past half-month been?" Harvey asked.
Vivian smiled. "With Edgar looking after me, every day has been wonderful. But I've really missed all of you these past few days."
"You little sweet-talker," Harvey teased. "If you missed us so much, why did it take you this long to visit your Grandma?"
Harvey saw right through her. She had always been that way—her words were always as sweet as honey whenever she spoke to anyone.
Vivian grinned, unbothered by his teasing. "Grandma and Grandpa were on vacation. They only got back a few days ago, and I didn't want to intrude. Besides, I can't always be in the way of you and Ms. Swanson, Uncle Harvey. You're about to get married. I'd hate to be a nuisance."
She knew how much they cared for her, but they had their own lives to live, and she didn't want to be a burden. It was time for her to grow up and learn to face and solve her problems on her own.
For a moment, Harvey didn't know what to say. He understood how sharp Vivian was—she didn't want them to worry. At just 18, she was already carrying herself with the maturity of an adult.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
