My Mate Had A Girlfriend novel Chapter 45

"Matt, wake up." He only stirred a bit before lifting his head to look at me. "Hey Matt."

"Go away, traitor!" Matt snarled weakly.

"Hey Matt, I'm not a traitor," I said defensively.

"You're in this together with that fucking vampire," Matt accused.

"I am not! I don't have anything or even anytime to explain but right now I need you to get up and help me free all of us," I told him.

"I'm not doing anything for you," Matt said but didn't get up.

"Matt please. I got the exit keys and I know where it is. I need to free you so that you could go back to our pack and call out for people. Please Matt, come on," I said, begging.

"So you're not friends with the vampire?" He asked, this time his voice softened.

"I am. But he doesn't know that I am doing all of these. Honestly, the vampire is not that bad. Gabriel has his own reasons. Right now, he and his troops are away to get weapons. I don't know what those weapons are for but this would be the only time for me to do this. I stole the keys from Gabriel and I want to free you. I don't know where exactly we are but I'm sure you can find your way," I explained and told him.

"I... I cannot get up," he said hardly.

"What?" I asked, not understanding exactly what he was talking about.

Slowly, with a lot of strength, Matt flipped over so that he was lying on his back. I gasped at the sight of his scarred stomach. "Who did this?" I asked right away, shrieking.

"Carlos," he groaned. It must be from what happened earlier when Gabriel called me 'baby'.

"I'm so sorry if I'm the reason behind that. It's okay. You relax and I'll get you some water to clean these wounds," I offered.

"No! I'll be fine. Let's go," Matt said, this time confidently and with spirit.

I helped Matt as we walked towards where I knew the exit. Matt still needed to climb up the ladder to the exit and I wasn't sure if he could do it but I really hope that he would try. He survived all these while and I hoped he remain strong.

"You need to climb this," I told him when we have reached the end of the ground.

"Okay," he said and then stepped up. But he was weak that he slipped off.

"Matt, we can do this some other time. I'll keep the keys for as long as I can," I told him.
