My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169 Fed Up With Explaining Again and Again

“Nathaniel, get out.”

Janet frowned as she took a step backward. Then, folding her arms, she stared at Nathaniel coldly.

Janet thought, he looks as if I owe him money! What an a*shole!

“Janet.” Nathaniel enunciated her name slowly. Then, taking a deep breath, he said faintly. “Why are you lying?”

Nathaniel thought, I have never doubted her, but it turns out that I should have! What an awkward position she has put me in!

But in Janet’s eyes, Nathaniel was talking nonsense, which she failed to catch.

“How is it that I lie?” Janet was so angry that she burst into laughter.

She thought, how funny! A guy barged in like this in the middle of the night just to question why I was lying!

He must be out of his head!

“Why can’t you just admit it?” Nathaniel planned to forgive her as long as she admitted that she had lied.

But he didn’t expect that she would still be that way.

Nathaniel thought, what a fool I am buying her story just because she acted sincere!

I even went so far as to have Alfred investigate it.

Janet, still perplexed, asked, “Nathaniel you have barged in here in the middle of the night, accusing me of lying and saying that I should admit it. That’s pure harassment, don’t you think? I wonder what I have done wrong to make you treat me this way!”

Suddenly, something flashed through her mind, which made Janet sneer, “You aren’t here because you lost the bet to me today, are you?

Nathaniel you are so petty.”

Nathaniel frowned, his pupils contracting slightly. “Don’t change the subject. I had Alfred investigate the miscarriage you’ve suffered.”

Janet was stunned upon hearing that.

She thought, the miscarriage…

I didn’t expect Nathaniel would have people investigate the matter… But after a glance at Nathaniel and some thoughts into the aggressive manner Nathaniel had, Janet understood what was going on right away, which brought a trace of anger to her.

Janet thought, whatever he found out, it was not the case.
