My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 170

Chapter 170 We Have Divorced

*Janel!”

Angered by Janet’s indifference, Nathaniel clenched his fists tightly and said fiercely, “You have let down Grandfather. He trusted you!”

He lowered his gaze, his expression Indicating that he was struggling. After a long time, he added, “And me as well,”

“Nathaniel, we have already divorced.”

Janet lowered her gaze as she opened the door. “You should leave now. It’s past my bedtime. Also, clean up the blood on the door. I don’t

want to get into trouble with the hotel because of that.”

Then she pushed Nathaniel out while he was still in a daze before saying to Alfred, who was standing outside the door, “Watch over him in

case he does more crazy stuff.”

With that, she slammed the door shut.

Nathaniel was left in a daze staring at the closed door. Then he closed his eyes in disappointment.

“Mr. Webster, it might not be true… Should I double-check it in case…”

“No need.” Nathaniel interrupted Alfred halfway through his sentences. “From now on, you are not allowed to mention the matter again.”

“Then you and Ms. Longfellow?”

“Don’t mention her as well!”

At that moment, a delicate voice sounded.

“Nathaniel!”

It was Anastasia, who came running. “Why are you here? The door of your room is wide open, and it was a mess inside. Also, you were nowhere to be seen. You’ve made me worried. I was this close to calling the police!”

But deep down, Anastasia was happy.

She had seen the blood-stained investigation report, knowing that Nathaniel would never love Janet again because of that. The report

might even make him hate Janet’s guts.

Noticing that Nathaniel remained silent, Anastasia reached out, wanting to hold his hand, only to find that his palm was full of dried blood

As a result, when she was treating Nathaniel’s wound, she intentionally stayed very close to Nathaniel revealing her body through her

loose neckline.

She thought, by doing that, Nathaniel would desire her.

“Nathaniel!” After tying around his palm with some bandage, Anastasia kissed him on the back of his hand while asking in a fawning

manner. “It’s getting late. Do you think I should stay here with you for the night?”

Nathaniel didn’t come back to his senses until now. Then he pulled out his arm with cold eyes as he said, “Anastasia, have you forgotten

what I said?”

“…”

Anastasia bit her lower lip, feeling wronged as if she was about to cry the next second.

“I am grateful for what you’ve done for me. So I’ll always take care of you. But you and I, we’ll never be together.” Then Nathaniel gave her the key to the room. “Here. You can stay, but don’t bother getting in touch with me no matter where I am.”
