Chapter 246 The Money
Ten minutes later, Janet came out of the bathroom with a red face, supporting herself
against the wall.
She couldn’t ask Nathaniel to clean up the washbasin, but the washbasin couldn’t be
placed there. So when she bent down to take the washbasin, her wound inevitably hurt.
Nathaniel had been waiting outside for a long time without Janet coming out, so he
pushed the door open and came in.
Seeing that Janet came out of the bathroom and the room was already empty, Nathaniel
couldn’t help frowning.
Just as he was about to speak, Janet’s cell phone rang in the cabinet beside the bed.
Nathaniel shut his mouth subconsciously.
Janet went forward and saw the caller ID. Her eyebrows twitched as she picked up the
phone. “Nigel.”
Hearing that, Nathaniel froze in place.
A few seconds later, Nathaniel’s hand tightened slightly, and an irrepressible sense of
bitterness quickly surged up.
Janet turned her back to Nathaniel, feeling a chill on her back for some reason. She
didn’t think much about it and listened to Nigel’s nervous words.
Nigel’s voice was slightly tightened and was not at all sloppy as he usually was. “Where
are you? It’s already very late. I called you several times…”
“I’m in the hospital and I just woke up.” As soon as Janet heard Nigel’s tone, she knew
that Nigel was thinking too much.
If she didn’t make it clear, Nigel would probably think that she had eloped with Nathaniel.
“What?”
Obviously, Janet’s words shocked Nigel even more. He asked anxiously, “What
happened? Are you injured? Which hospital are you in? I will go there now!”
Hearing that, Janet turned around to look at Nathaniel.
She saw that Nathaniel had turned his face to the side, revealing his taut lower jaw, looking extremely cold and detached.
Janet withdrew her gaze.
Janet said. “Sure. Find me a female nurse when you come. I can’t handle it myself.” She
was very familiar with Nigel, and she didn’t feel that there was anything wrong with her
tone.
However, Nathaniel felt that it was ear-piercing. They seemed too familiar and natural.
Of course, Nigel and Janet were boyfriend and girlfriend, so Janet would certainly be more comfortable instructing her boyfriend to do things than an outsider like Nathaniel!
When Janet hung up the phone, Nathaniel couldn’t help it anymore. He curled his lips in ridicule, and his dark eyes were full of mockery. “You know what kind of person Nigel is. That kind of playboy is not good for you. You should break up with him early!”
These words couldn’t annoy Janet at all now.
She sat on the hospital bed, looking at Nathaniel with slight mockery. “You said the same thing last time, but Mr. Webster, I seem to remember that I have already answered.
you.”
Nathaniel frowned slightly. He couldn’t remember it clearly, so he asked, “What?”
