Chapter 222
Many had recorded the scene between Victor and Linda’s dispute on the live stream.
“That was a crash course in insulting someone without a single cuss word.”
“Having debuted as a director nine years ago and is still considered a newbie? Nobody bothered to give his work a chance no matter how hard he tried in this vast and resourceful industry. Man, that was brutal. Is this the art of communication?”
“Frankly speaking, he shouldn’t have humiliated her like that. She wasn’t in the wrong either. How ironic of him to jeer at others when he’s incapable himself.”
Once Linda returned to the company, she dropped by the PR department, which was collectively discussing that incident. They were unafraid of Victor or any online trolls as they were confident in their abilities.
Not to mention, it was satisfying to watch Linda refute him.
Before they could do damage control, someone had picked up the baton. A media outlet, which focused on insiders and rumors about directors, released a video. It was footage of Victor threatening a new actress to sleep with him.
Scandals like this were common in the industry, while some were just better than others at suppressing the news without affecting their work.
Indeed, the entertainment industry was fundamentally flawed. Whether it was actors, investors, or directors, those in the industry rarely managed to maintain their integrity. Their values gradually shifted as they were constantly tempted by various benefits.
Similarly, Linda didn’t believe she could be an exception. After all, the entertainment industry was essentially a real–life survival game. Whatever character one transformed into was up to them.
All she hoped for was to preserve her genuine passion and motivation for creating her art without pandering to others.
Linda returned to her office to continue her work. She had extended an olive branch to Hannah and believed the latter could make it into the entertainment industry with her striking appearance.
