Chapter 223
Regardless, Linda understood that she couldn’t control everything. Although she had given an olive branch to Hannah, who was conceited and haughty, it ultimately depended on Hannah’s decision.
At that moment, Lina entered the office with a document.
Linda couldn’t help but comment, “Every time you’re in here, we talk about work.”
Setting down the documents on the desk, Lina took a bottle of soda from the refrigerator. “What else should we be discussing here other than work? Our love lives? I need to work hard and honor the hefty salary I received from this company, or I’ll feel bad.”
Linda didn’t respond to her and simply flipped through the document she sent in. This time, it wasn’t a folder about talent casting. Instead, it was all the dirt on Victor.
She perused the document from top to bottom and couldn’t help but flash a thumbs–up at Lina. “What are you, Lina? How do you always have scandalous materials on almost everyone in the industry?”
There weren’t many secrets in the industry, but they were known only to insiders. Even those who had sniffed around, hoping to get a scoop, rarely uncovered anything that hadn’t been publicly disclosed. As such, Linda was always surprised by the information Lina brought her.
Lina casually sipped her soda. “That’s what you get when you’re deep in the industry–a bunch of trusted aides. Anyway, don’t bother to know how I found out. Just know that I got them legally and that these will be beneficial to you.
“Do what you can with the resources I provided, and leave the rest to me. After all, I’m paid to do my job.”
Lina was aware that Linda wanted to become friends. However, the former knew that wasn’t an excuse to slack at work, especially with her position.
For years, Samson and Linda had offered great help. They were also kind to her. Therefore, she had to repay their favor in any way she could.
Anybody who attempted to give Linda a hard time had to go through her first.
“Lina, you don’t have to do this.”
Linda easily saw through her intentions. As a woman to another, she didn’t want Lina to reduce herself to a puppet.
“I get what you’re trying to say, but I also want you to understand that I must do this. Nobody can convince me otherwise. You and Mr. Lynch have been a great help to me, and I’m simply helping to make your lives easier.
