Noelle observed Xenia's guilty expression. "Give me the phone."
"No, you can't call the police." Xenia turned to Donovan and pleaded, "Donovan, I don't understand how these things work. The supplier said it was normal to make deals, but I had no idea they'd send expired products!"
Donovan struck Xenia across the face. "You've disappointed me. Making deals? Did the Liddell family ever treat you unfairly?"
He was furious. How was he supposed to hold his ground in front of Noelle now?
Tears streamed down Xenia's face as she sobbed, "Donovan, I was blinded by greed and deceived by the supplier. I'm sorry!"
"Oh? Did you suddenly realize it was a mistake now that you've been caught? Did you ever stop to think about the consequences when you took the bribe?" Donovan felt a headache coming on. "Xenia, you've been nothing but trouble lately."
Xenia begged, "Donovan, please, just help me this one time."
She never expected the supplier to send fully expired pads and screw her over completely. And she certainly hadn't anticipated Noelle to act quickly. Xenia didn't even have time to destroy the evidence.
Donovan pushed her away. "Noelle is in charge of the foundation now. She's the one you should be begging, not me."
This was out of his hands. After all, Noelle had the evidence. Noelle looked at Xenia coldly. "Give me the phone."
Xenia gritted her teeth. "Noelle, we grew up together. Just let this go, please. My reputation will be ruined if this gets out!
"I'll hand over the foundation's funds, and I won't touch them again. Isn't that enough?"
"No." Noelle snatched her phone back. She had to reclaim the foundation's money, but she wasn't done with Xenia yet.
