"Vivian, you have people standing behind you now," General Ward said evenly.

He turned his piercing gaze back to Owen. "Your moral corruption doesn't surprise me. It's simply your nature. But you bullied my daughter, and I will be collecting that debt."

Yvonne interjected sharply, "What are you going to do about it?"

General Ward slowly shifted his gaze to her.

Crushed by the sheer weight of his presence, Yvonne tried to strike first. "The Sutton family isn't someone you can just push around!"

General Ward's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Based on your own philosophy, your ability to wreck another woman's home relies entirely on the 'value' you provide the man. Go home and ask your father—how many years will that little bit of 'value' keep a man entertained before he drains you completely?"

Vivian and the guard carrying Hugo trailed behind.

As they passed, Owen reached out and grabbed Hugo's arm. "You disrespectful brat. Say hello to your father."

"Get lost!" Hugo screamed, slapping at Owen's hand. "You backstabbing wolf! My grandpa is going to destroy you!"

Blinded by rage and habit, Owen lunged for the person he had comfortably abused for eight years. He grabbed Vivian violently. "Is this what you taught him? My son was perfectly fine until you turned him into a disrespectful brat!"
