A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 845

A satisfied smile touched Starla's lips upon hearing they had pinpointed Brinley's exact location. Perfect.

"Send a team. And make it fast," she ordered sharply. Her biggest fear had been that Brinley would just stay completely off the grid. If she had kept quiet, tracking her down would have been a nightmare. Though Starla despised the situation, she had to admit Herbert's methods of protecting someone were infinitely tighter than Fairfax's. But it didn't matterโ€”if she wanted to find someone, she would.

Garret immediately left to dispatch a capture team. With the coordinates in hand, dragging her out would be easy.

Just as he walked out, Starla's phone rang again. It was Tanya.

"Starla, can you do me a favor just this once?" Tanya asked, sounding frantic.

"What's wrong?"

"I need to come to Yoran Country!"

After leaving the hospital and returning to her own apartment, Tanya had tossed and turned, ultimately deciding she had to terminate the pregnancy. But with Darian watching her every move in Marina City, she wouldn't be able to do it safely. Her only option was to flee the country. She highly doubted Darian's reach extended internationally.

"He's starting to pull the same shameless tactics Fairfax used, isn't he?" Starla noted.

"Exactly! He can't do anything about his family, so he's just tormenting me instead," Tanya vented, her frustration boiling over. She had never expected Darian to be this manipulative.

Hearing the familiar phrase "can't do anything about his family," a pang of bitter sympathy hit Starla. "You're making the right call. You're a lot more clear-headed than I was."

Just then, her phone lit up again. Seeing Darian's name on the screen, she furrowed her brow but answered it. "Hello."

"Tanya is probably going to ask you for help. I'm asking you not to help her leave the country."

Starla blinked. Who was the one who used to say Darian was the most innocent guy in their friend group? Look at him now, calculating her exact moves before she even made them. She had just warned Tanya not to let him find out.

"What am I supposed to do?" Starla replied smoothly. "Given our friendship, if she asks, I'm obviously going to help her."

"So she did ask?" Darian's voice had lost its usual gentle warmth.
