The moment Starla reached the ground floor, she instructed the butler to have the kitchen prepare a late-night spread. The butler hurried off to make the arrangements.
By the time Yardley emerged from his study, he found Starla sitting leisurely in the dining room. The table was laden with all her favorite comfort foods.
Her sudden return of appetite made it glaringly obvious: the news of Brinley's death had put her in a fantastic mood.
Yardley approached the table, leaning forward and resting both hands flat against the mahogany surface. "Tell me, how exactly should I punish you for this?"
She was his sister, yes, but the sheer magnitude of the trouble she had just caused made him want to seriously discipline her.
Starla didn't even blink, projecting complete indifference. "Why don't I just pay you back with my life?"
Yardley choked on his words. *Her life?* Did she really think Brinley was worth that much to him?
He had only intended to scare some sense into his rebellious little sister. Instead, he ended up infuriating himself to the point of a headache. He turned sharply and strode toward the exit.
As he walked away, he threw his words over his shoulder. "There's one thing you need to get straight! When it comes to Brinley, your brother has always been on your side."
Starla rolled her eyes at the sheer absurdity of the statement. *On my side?*
Who was the one who had immediately accused her the second he heard Brinley was dead? Who was the one who just threatened to punish her? If he were truly on her side, he wouldn't have orchestrated this entire circus to begin with.

Yardley marched out of the estate. Sitting in the back of his luxury SUV, he clamped a cigar between his teeth and looked at Reba in the front passenger seat.
"Keep your eyes on the superior," he commanded, his voice dripping with lethal intent.
"Yes, sir," Reba replied.
"The second he makes a move against Starla..." Yardley's eyes flashed with a cold, terrifying light. "End him. Leave no trace."
Reba paused, momentarily stunned by the weight of the order. She hesitated.
This wasn't a small matter. The Hoggart family was deeply entangled with 'the superior,' and that man held entirely too much leverage over them to simply be taken off the board without catastrophic fallout.
Yardley closed his eyes wearily. "What else are we supposed to do?"
They both knew exactly how ruthless the superior could be. If he set his sights on Starla, it would become a matter of life and death. Yardley still didn't understand the full scope of Brinley's situationโhow on earth had she become someone the superior specifically demanded?
Herbert had originally intended to use Brinley to seize control of certain assets, but now everything had blown up in their faces.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
