Chapter 124
I took a deep breath, and the stifling anger I’d been holding onto vanished completely. Replacing it was something much stronger, a deep sense of satisfaction and yes, a hint of thrill.
I lifted my chin, not bothering to spare even a glance at Brian and Silvia. With a graceful motion, I gathered the hem of my gown and followed the security chief towards the VIP door adorned with gold engravings.
“Wait! We’re going this way too!” Brian shouted in frustration, dragging Silvia along as he tried to follow.
But two burly werewolf guards immediately crossed their electric batons, blocking their way without hesitation.
“Apologies, Mr. Brian,” one of the guards said coolly, his expression showing nothing but disdain. “You are regular guests and cannot use the VIP entrance.”
“Are you out of your mind? I’m the Alpha of Blackwood Pack!” Brian snapped, his whole body tensing as rage consumed him. The air filled with the oppressive force of his pheromones. “How dare you stop me?”
“We just received the official financial report from the Pack Council Hall, Mr. Brian,” the guard replied, his tone icy and unflinching. “Currently, Blackwood Pack’s economic standing and territory contributions no longer qualify for VIP access. Please use the regular entrance instead.”
The words hit like a slap across Brian’s face. His expression shifted from a steely blue to a pale white, his body trembling with humiliation as if the weight of the words had knocked the breath out of him.
“That’s impossible!” Brian roared in desperation.
Silvia reached out in an attempt to calm him down, her voice wavering slightly. “Brian, sweetheart, please, take a deep breath.” “Stay away from me!” Brian snapped at her.
Silvia’s face flushed with anger. “How dare you yell at me! You defend another wolf girl right in front of me, even plan to take her home. Now, you just stand there watching that lowly omega walk in while we’re treated like stray dogs out here! I’ve been swallowing my pride to comfort you, and this is what I get? You’re unbelievable!”
“Shut up, Silvia! Have some dignity!” Brian barked impatiently. All he wanted right now was to get away from this humiliating scene. He reached out, attempting to drag Silvia away forcefully.
“I’m not leaving! Don’t even try until you explain yourself!” Silvia clung to Brian’s suit jacket like her life depended on it, yelling like a furious street–side brawler. “I gave up everything to save you! I nearly lost my life for you! And now, this is how you repay me?”
The two wrestled awkwardly on the red carpet. Around them, the noble werewolves slowed their steps, glaring at the spectacle with disdain and derision, their whispers cloaked in amusement.
Just as Brian reached his breaking point and yanked harder to shake Silvia off-
“Ahh!”
A sharp cry erupted from Silvia. Her sky–high heels, clearly a poor fit, betrayed her. One ankle gave way, and she lost all balance, tumbling forward like a clumsy sack, crashing straight ahead!
With a loud “thud,” Silvia fell flat on her face. Her pink, puffy dress, covered in cheap rhinestones, was instantly coated with dust from the carpet, and her carefully styled hair was now a total mess. Worst of all, her nose slammed hard against the steps, and bright red blood started streaming down.
The crowd burst into mocking laughter.

Brian’s face was a stormy mix of anger and embarrassment -he looked like he’d rather disappear into thin air. Without a word of comfort, he yanked Silvia off the ground roughly and dragged her away, trying to escape the stares and snickers.
I stood just inside the VIP doors, watching the whole thing unfold with a cold gaze. Not a shred of sympathy stirred in me—only a pure sense of satisfaction.
But that feeling didn’t last long. Worry quickly crept into my mind.
With an Alpha and Luna this terrible, Blackwood Pack was headed for disaster. That wasn’t something I wanted to
see.
I turned away and kept walking down the hallway.
