Chapter 32
Ashley’s POV
Silvia’s face twisted with a mix of anger and panic, the cracks finally showing on her pitiful little facade.
Perfect. That’s exactly what I wanted.
“Ashley! You’ve gone too far!” Brian snapped out of his shock and stormed up to me, standing protectively in front of a hysterical Silvia. His handsome face was filled with rage, and the way he looked at me-like I was some unreasonable lunatic— cut deeper than it should have.
“That painting is Silvia’s original work! I was right there watching her paint it, stroke by stroke, just last week!” he growled, his Alpha aura bearing down on me like a heavy storm, trying to crush me under its weight. “You’re just jealous! Jealous of Silvia’s talent, jealous of the way I care about her! When did you get so vicious?”
As soon as he finished, the whispers among the crowd grew louder.
“If Alpha Brian says so, it can’t be a lie, right?”
“Exactly. He saw it with his own eyes. Ashley’s the gallery owner, sure, but she’s an Omega-it’s not hard to believe she’d do something like this.”
“So shameless, using such dirty tricks to go after her rival.”
The murmurs around me felt like countless tiny needles pricking my skin. I could feel their stares-filled with contempt, doubt, and that smug, twisted joy of watching drama unfold. They all sided with Brian, sided with power. And me? To them, I was nothing more than a discarded, bitter ex seeking revenge out of jealousy.
But I didn’t back down. My eyes locked firmly on Brian’s, those eyes clouded by rage and bias.
I let out a cold, dismissive laugh. “Brian, do you really think there’s anything about her that I could possibly envy?”
My gaze shifted past him, landing squarely on the trembling woman behind him. I raised a hand and snapped my fingers toward Leo, who stood nearby.
“Leo, I think it’s time we show everyone another masterpiece.”
Leo immediately understood. He stepped over to Silvia’s painting, where another canvas, identical in size, was concealed under a velvet cloth. As curious eyes followed his every move, Leo yanked the cloth away with a sharp motion.
“Oh my God!”
“These… these two paintings…”
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.
It was a painting almost identical to Silvia’s. Same composition, same brushstrokes, same theme. But anyone could see this second piece completely outshone Silvia’s clumsy imitation. The use of color, the play of light and shadow, the depth of emotion –it was on another level. If Silvia’s painting was like watered-down sweetener, this one was a bottle of aged fine wine, rich, full -bodied, and dripping with stories that pulled you in.
“I actually thought, Silvia’s painting had some charm before,” an art critic adjusted his glasses, his disdain obvious, “but now comparing it to this? Utter trash! It reeks of technique without soul!”
“Oh my gosh, now this is a true masterpiece!”
“So it really was a copy!”
“She was just talking so passionately about her work earlier! What a hypocrite!”

The crowd’s attitude flipped in an instant. The judgmental looks that had been aimed at me now cut into Silvia like daggers.
“No! It’s not true!” Silvia completely lost it, shaking her head frantically as tears streamed down her face like a broken string of pearls. “She’s the one who copied me! Look at them-they’re exactly the same! Why would you say it’s me who stole her idea? It could’ve been her stealing mine!”
