Chapter 33

No.

I bit down hard on my lip, the sharp sting and taste of blood filling my mouth as I fought against the overwhelming mental pressure. There was no way I’d kneel to him again. Never.

“I refuse,” I forced out the words through clenched teeth, each syllable draining all the strength from my body.

My defiance seemed to push him over the edge. Brian’s restraint snapped in an instant. He reached out, that hand that had once touched me so tenderly now becoming like an iron claw, ready to grab me-ready to crush me into submission with brute force.

But just as his fingertips were about to reach me, a tall figure suddenly stood between us, solid and unyielding like an unbreakable wall.

It was Hebert.

He just stood there calmly, effortlessly neutralizing Brian’s raging aura. He didn’t even glance at Brian, his deep, night-sky-like eyes only focused on me with concern.

“Are you okay?” he asked in a low voice, his tone carrying a soothing strength.

“I’m fine.” I shook my head, straightening up behind him.

“And who the hell are you? Get lost! This is between me and my Luna!” Brian roared, furious at being completely ignored by Hebert. He was like a lion whose territory had been invaded.

Hebert finally turned his head, his gaze meeting Brian’s. Those eyes were as calm as a frozen lake, yet they carried an undeniable pressure that instantly silenced Brian-a dominance that only a top-tier Alpha could possess.

“I trust her.” Hebert’s voice wasn’t loud, but it rang clear across the gallery. “Alpha Brian. You said Ashley is your Luna, didn’t you? Then as her husband, shouldn’t you at least give her the chance to explain?”

Brian’s face turned from pale to red in a flash, his expression shifting uncontrollably. He stepped back half a pace, his eyes darting uneasily between me and Hebert, full of irritation and suspicion.

I took a step forward, drawing everyone’s attention back to me.

“Brian, you just said you saw Silvia paint this painting with your own eyes, right?” I asked coldly.

“That’s right!”

“That means this painting was only finished recently.” I looked at him, then shifted my gaze to the true masterpiece. “And this one? It was painted three years ago.”

“Just because you said it’s from three years ago doesn’t make it true! Where’s the proof?” Silvia’s voice was sharp, like she was clinging to her last shred of hope.

“Of course, there’s proof.” I met her venomous glare head-on, then spoke slowly, each word clear and deliberate, sealing my

victory.

“Because I am the original artist of this painting-Rebecca.”

The room erupted.

Brian’s eyes widened, his pupils shrinking as he stared at me in disbelief, like he was seeing me for the first time.

I didn’t bother with his reaction. Instead, I walked over to my painting and pointed at a barely noticeable spot in the bottom- right corner. “Every single one of my paintings has a unique mark.” My finger stopped at a delicate insignia—an ‘R’ entwined with a tiny rose. “This is my signature.”
