So she didn’t “miss” it. She did it on purpose!

That vicious woman! From the very beginning, she set up a perfectly calculated trap! She deliberately let Silvia’s works be displayed, only to publicly expose everything in front of all the media and high society, ruining Silvia’s reputation and turning the Blackwood Pack into a laughingstock once again!

“That damned bitch!” I growled through clenched teeth, my fists tightening to the point where my knuckles cracked audibly.

“No, Brian, don’t say that!” Silvia immediately grabbed my arm in a panic, desperately trying to defend her. “Ashley… she couldn’t have done it on purpose! She’s just… just upset because of the divorce. She wasn’t like this before, she—”

The more “kind-hearted” she sounded as she tried to excuse Ashley, the more the fire in my chest raged.

I, Brian Winter, Alpha of the Blackwood Pack, being toyed with by an Omega I personally pulled out of the gutter? I gave her everything she has, and this is how she pays me back-using the dirtiest, most cruel way possible! If it weren’t for me, she’d still be suffering under her greedy excuse of an uncle, rotting in some back alley A useless wretch with no wolf spirit–who the hell gave her the guts to humiliate me like this?

Just then, Kael knocked and stepped into the room, his expression darker than before.

“Alpha,” he handed me a tablet, “Things online have spiraled out of control. Every media outlet is running stories about the ‘ plagiarism scandal’ from the art exhibit. On top of that, the food poisoning incident from the banquet is being dragged up too. Our stock prices have already started to fall. The Elders just held an emergency meeting. They think immediate action is necessary.”

“What’s their solution?” My voice was so cold it could freeze the air around us.

“The Elders are unanimous. They believe Luna needs to hold a press conference to clear everything up.”

“Fine!” Before I could respond, Silvia, lying on the bed, immediately spoke up. Her face was pale, but her determination was written all over it. “I’ll do it! I’ll apologize to everyone-whatever it takes to fix this mess. I’ll go!”

Kael hesitated, glancing awkwardly at Silvia before carefully turning back to me. “Alpha… the Elders’ decision was… they want Ashely-Luna Ashley to be the one to speak.”

The air in the room turned suffocating in an instant.

Silvia’s face went completely pale in an instant, all the color drained away. Her teary eyes were filled with disbelief and hurt. But in just a second, she forced a smile-uglier than crying-and her voice came out weak but pretending to be strong: “It’s., it’s fine. As long as the issue gets resolved… it doesn’t matter who goes… I’m fine… really…”

Watching her put on this act, trying to be tough while swallowing her pain, it felt like an invisible hand squeezed my heart

mercilessly.

Enough.

I’d had enough.

I turned around, gently patting Silvia’s hand, and tried to comfort her with the softest voice I could manage: “Just rest. Don’t think about anything else.”

Then I straightened up. The fury that had been bottled up for so long, the raw, volatile rage of an Alpha, finally broke free.

“Kael,” I called out to my Beta, every word carrying the icy weight of a frozen blade, “Get the car ready.”

My gaze shifted to the pitch-black night outside the window. In my eyes, a storm was brewing-dark, unrestrained.

“I’ll personally go and ‘invite’ my Luna back.”

Chapter 36

Ashley’s POV

The gallery finally quieted down as the guests slowly trickled away. The mixed scent of perfume, champagne, and the lingering tension from earlier conflicts was starting to dissipate.

Everything had gone just as planned-actually, even better than I had imagined. Silvia was thoroughly disgraced, and I had crushed Brian’s pride with my own hands. I should have felt exhilarated, like popping open the most expensive bottle of champagne to celebrate.

But my chest felt hollow, like something had been ripped out of me.

I was the one who had been plagiarized, the one who was wronged. Yet now, here I was, forced to play the role of the conniving, cold-hearted villain. Justice didn’t come gently; I had to claw it back in the ugliest, most self-destructive way possible.

Just then, the heavy glass doors of the gallery flew open with a resounding “bang.” I didn’t even need to turn around-the suffocating wave of an Alpha’s fury mixed with raw possessiveness told me all I needed to know.

Brian.

He was here, storming in with an air of destruction clinging to him like a dark cloud.”

Did you plan all of this?” He stormed over, closing the distance in a heartbeat. His sapphire-blue eyes blazed like fire straight out of hell. His hands gripped my shoulders with a force that made my bones scream in protest. “You cruel, scheming woman! You purposely had Silvia’s painting included in the exhibition just so you could humiliate her in front of everyone today! Setting her up like some cheap bait!”

His accusations, sharp and venomous, cut through me like a whip. I didn’t deny it. Instead, I lifted my chin, meeting his fury-

filled gaze head-on, my lips curling into a cold, mocking smile.
