Chapter 47

Silvia’s POV

I was practically dragged out of that suffocating lounge by Brian. His big hand gripping my arm felt like a burning iron clamp, the searing heat almost crushing my bones. I could smell the aggressive Alpha pheromones radiating off him in anger, like a wildfire, destructive and uncontrollable.

My heart was pounding, but not out of fear. No, it was something darker, more twisted-a sick sense of triumph.

I had won.

I had won!

Herbert’s words might’ve sounded like he was standing up for Ashley, but so what? An Alpha-a powerful one like him, no less -would actually marry someone discarded by another Alpha? Someone with no wolf spirit, a total nobody? What a joke. This was just another childish game between Alphas to flaunt their dominance. Ashley was nothing more than a pawn he used to humiliate Brian, a mistress he could abandon at any moment.

And me? I was the one who had every right to be by Brian’s side. I was the one who had married him. 1

I was the woman Brian brought to this prestigious banquet. I was the rightful future Luna of the Blackwood Pack! “Brian, don’t do this…” I leaned against him weakly, my voice soft and full of innocence as I whispered near his ear, “Don’t get angry over her, it’s not worth it… It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have shown up here and pushed Ashley to act out of jealousy. I’ve caused you trouble again…”

“Shut up,” he growled, though his grip on my hand loosened slightly without realizing it. “This has nothing to do with you, Silvia. It’s that shameless, disgraceful woman!”

See? He’s always on my side. To him, I’m forever the fragile, kind girl needing his protection.

That wave of triumph in my heart bubbled up like champagne fizz. I even wanted to let out a victorious laugh.

As we stepped back into the banquet hall, the curious, gossipy/stares from all around were impossible to miss. I straightened my back, tightened my grip on Brian’s arm, and slightly lifted my chin. I relished their attention, treating it like a coronation for my rightful status as the “winner.”

Unlike that cheap Ashley, who needs to leech off others as a mistress to sneak into places like this, I, Silvia, am standing here openly and proudly as Brian Winter’s partner.

In the crowd, I caught sight of Ashley and Herbert. They stood near the floor-to-ceiling windows, and Ashley’s face had lost the panic she’d shown earlier in the lounge. Instead, she carried herself with a calm, distant air I’d never seen before. Herbert was speaking to her in a low voice, their closeness rubbing me entirely the wrong way.

Ashley was undeniably gorgeous, with a face that could easily rival that of a movie star.

But no matter how stunning she looked, it didn’t change the fact-she was a useless nobody, not even a wolf spirit to her name. She was the lowest of the low in the wolf pack.

Just wait, Ashley. Watching her retreating figure, I silently cursed her with every ounce of venom in my heart. Once I complete the Luna ceremony, I’ll have you and that damn doctor friend of yours kneeling at my feet, licking the soles of my shoes!

Right then, the lights in the banquet hall dimmed, and a spotlight illuminated the center of the stage. The host, a Beta widely respected in the Wolf Alliance, stepped onto the stage with a microphone in hand.

“Ladies and gentlemen, good evening!” His deep, resonant voice rang out clearly across the room. “Thank you all for joining us tonight for our annual charity gala. All proceeds from tonight will go towards rebuilding orphanages and supporting children’s education within our wolf packs…”

Beside me, Brian’s body stiffened abruptly.

“And before we begin tonight’s charity auction,” the host’s voice grew more animated, tinged with excitement and mystery,” we are honored to welcome a very special guest! She has been a dedicated supporter of our charity work, making extraordinary contributions…”

Oh my god, a special guest at the Wolf Pack Charity Gala?

I couldn’t help but wonder-just who could it be?

To even step foot in this kind of banquet was already a huge privilege.

And to be a special guest? That would take someone truly exceptional.

I figured it must be some stunning Luna in the crowd tonight. I needed to find out who she was, and once she stepped down, I’d

make sure to ask her how on earth she achieved such an honor.

One day, I’d be a special guest too-that was a promise.
