“Don’t believe?” She lifted her head from my arms, her tear-filled eyes staring into mine. “Brian, why are you always so sure about her? After everything tonight-her behavior, how close she was with Herbert doesn’t it prove she’s bringing shame to the Blackwood Pack?”

“I just know,” I said firmly, leaving no room for argument. It was instinctual. I’ve shared a bed with that woman for three years; I know her damn stubborn sense of morality. She might hate me, she might even want revenge, but she wouldn’t do it like that.

A flicker of hurt and jealousy crossed Silvia’s face. “I envy her,” she whispered. “She’s just a weak little Omega, yet she has two of the strongest Alphas in North America wrapped around her…”

Something shifted in me, and I let go of her. “You’re tired, Silvia,” I said gently. “I’ll ask the doctor to come check on you. You

need to rest.”

The mention of “doctor” and “checkup” made her body stiffen slightly. A flash of panic appeared in her eyes but was quickly concealed behind a look of frailty. “Alright… okay,” she murmured.

Watching her walk away, my mind was a mess. Ashley, Rebecca… How many sides of this woman do I not know? Everything I thought I understood about her shattered completely tonight. Did I really… misunderstand her all this time?

I yanked at my tie irritably and called my Beta, Kael.

Kael appeared quickly, as calm and steady as ever. “Alpha.”

“What’s your take on tonight?” I asked, skipping any pleasantries. My voice was thick with frustration. “About Ashley… about

everything.”

Kael stayed silent for a moment, then replied in his usual respectful tone. “Alpha, it’s not my place to judge your personal affairs.

“I’m not asking. I’m telling you to speak,” I snapped, my patience gone, letting the weight of my Alpha authority slip into my

voice.

He finally met my gaze, his brown eyes unwavering, clear, and brutally honest. No fear. Just plain truth. “Alpha, if you want me to be honest, you’ve never truly respected her.”

My head buzzed, his words hitting hard.

“You gave her the title of Luna, but not once did you take her out on a proper date, nor have you ever introduced her as your partner outside of official duties. To you, it seems like she’s more of a flawless housekeeper than a wife.”

“What’s the problem here?!” My voice rose sharply, stung by his words. “I didn’t cheat! I didn’t go looking for another woman! I’m just helping Silvia-a woman who saved my life and is now on the brink of death!”

“Yes, you didn’t cheat.” Kael’s tone was calm, almost eerily so. “But I think no female wolf can stand her mate placing another woman above her. Even if she has to tolerate it because of her position or duty.”

Kael’s words hit me like a sledgehammer, crushing me inside.
