When Chloe woke up, she was surprised to feel drained and tired.

The room was gloomy, with the Crystal of Knowledge buried beneath her as she slept, blocking its glow.

Chloe squinted, feeling an overwhelming sense of fatigue and boredom for the first time in this survival game.

It was like being stuck in an endless loop of repetitive tasks, forced to clock in every single day-an intense frustration and boredom that wouldn’t go away.

“What’s wrong with me? Chloe wondered. I’m so tired.

Chloe lay on the soft bed, staring up at the dark ceiling, her brow slightly furrowed.

She lay there quietly for a few minutes, then glanced at the global chat.

Sure enough, the global chat was flooded with complaints.

MintyGrass (Ugh, this muggy weather again. I don’t even want to step outside today.]

SpringBreeze: [Ugh, I don’t want to go out. Why hasn’t this crappy game crashed already?]

NightShade: [Scalper, that’s not right, is it?]

Chloe glanced at the system panel, seeing the message that the emotional shield was now off

She wasn’t surprised at all.

Ever since joining this survival game, Players had been stuck in their tiny Cubic Yard Soil Plots, surrounded by darkness and, closed-in spaces, always under constant, invisible stress just to stay alive.

No one could possibly stay cheerful in a place like this.

Chloe had once stood at the edge of her territory, looking down

It was bottomless, like staring into an abyss-endless, with no sign of where the darkness ended.

Back then, Chloe’s heart raced, but she didn’t think much of it at the time.

Now, looking back, she figured is must’ve been the system’s emotional shield at work,

Chloe had been working nonstop lately, running around like crazy. Now, all that exhaustion hit her like a tidal wave, leaving her feeling totally overwhelmed and uncomfortable.

She frowned, knowing just lying there wouldn’t do any good, so she forced herself out of bed.

She got dressed at a leisurely pace, trying to muster some energy, and grabbed the toothbrush and soap she’d stored in a recent trade.

Feeling down? Chloe wondered. ‘Guess I just didn’t get enough rest. A good face wash, freshen up, and tidying the cabin

should do the trick

Chloe had traded for a few extra buckets to use for wastewater.

She poured the water from brushing her teeth and washing her face into the wastewater bucket.

Before, Chloe had always used as little water as possible and didn’t even use a toothbrush. After all, the water she used for brushing was just regular dew, and she’d make the most out of it by watering her Cubic Yard Soil Plot.

But today, Chloe decided to splurge. She actually used toothpaste.

“Wow, living the high life now, Chloe thought, amused.

Chloe chuckled to herself, then got serious about brushing her teeth and washing her face, making sure she got herself cleaned up.

Once she finished tidying up, Chloe noticed her stack of A4 sheets was ready, and the system had auto-printed the Composite Arcane Materials onto them.

It was a thick pile, stacked up from her ankle all the way to her knee.

Most people would feel faint at the sight of such a heavy book, but for Chloe, seeing this thick study guide actually made her feel calm and grounded.

She gathered up the sheets and stacked them neatly in the corner of the table, right next to her Magic Rune beginner’s book and her Magical Plant Guidebook.

Chloe actually owned a bookshelf, but the Slime Cabin was so tiny that there’s just no way it would fit.

After making sure her precious plants were all doing well, Chloe finally got ready to head out.
