“Someone from the Langstrom family.”
“Yes.”
The old man’s eyes flew wide as a thought hit him, “Tatiana, you’re not thinking of—”
“Shhh.”

The old man was horrified by what she planned and cut her off urgently, “No, it’s far too dangerous. The Langstroms are not people to cross-”
“Grandpa, they’re plotting against Ann and Hubert.”

Her single sentence silenced him completely. Unbelievable rage flooded his features, “How da they!!”
Terrified the old man would work himself into a fit, Tatiana quickly held out the glass of water
“Calm down, Grandpa.”
Calm was the last thing he could be.
He grumbled and cursed under his breath nonstop.
“Shh, Grandpa. Ann and Hubert are still asleep.”
That line shut him up instantly.
“Is this really true?”
“Leave this to me, Grandpa. I have everything under control.”
“No. It’s too dangerous…”
“Grandpa. Trust me.”
She took his hand, holding his gaze with unshakable resolve stronger than he’d ever seen.
The old man slowly settled down and fell silent.
“Grandpa, I don’t need Jasper to keep all of you safe.”
In the end, the old man relented. He stopped trying to stop her, only speaking earnestly to warn her again and again to stay vigilant-the Langstrom family were formidable foes.

Chapter 633 Hidden Peril
“I know, Grandpa. It’s far too late; you ought to rest.”
She coaxed the elderly man off to bed.
Tatiana headed to her study, kicked off her shoes, and stepped barefoot across the soft car She walked slowly to the wall covered in photos, pulled out a marker, and drew an arrow a one print.
It marked progress.
She stared at her mapped-out plans, lost in a long daze.
Though she’d taken a huge step forward that day, not an ounce of joy stirred in her chest.
When she closed her eyes, all she saw was Jasper’s face.
After all this time apart, how could seeing him again leave her untouched?
Buzz buzz buzz…
Her phone vibrated.
She pulled it out to check.
A text from an unknown number stared back at her.
[Stop while you still can. This is deadly dangerous.]
No contact name saved, yet she knew exactly who it came from without a second thought.
She deleted the message, blocked the number, then turned to head for the bathroom to shower.
Up on the rooftop, Jasper clutched his phone, waiting for a reply that never came. He finally gave in and dialed her number.
Unsurprisingly, his call went straight to voicemail-she’d blocked him.
His breath caught in his throat, frustration churning wildly inside him.
Foster sat beside him, clutching a beer bottle and not holding back his mocking tone, “I warned you never to keep secrets from the person you love. No matter the outcome, she deserves the full truth.”
Foster took a huge gulp of beer, his voice heavy with sorrow. It sounded like advice for Jasper, yet more like a bitter confession to himself.

Rose had vanished without a trace a full year ago.
Even with his elite hacking skills, he’d turned up zero leads on her whereabouts.
Foster’s eyes dimmed with despair.
He knew all too well what it meant to make this mistake, and he refused to watch Jasper repeat
Tragically, they were two of the same kind. Both convinced they’d found the perfect fix by hiding the truth.
Both doomed to the same heartbroken end.
In the hospital.
Tammy knitted her brows, worry leaking unconsciously into her expression.
Moments later, the doctor stepped out of the examination room.
She hurried forward at once, “How is he?”
The doctor’s face was grim, his tone sharp with reprimand, “The patient’s condition is extremely serious. Any strenuous, stimulating activity could spike intracranial pressure and kill him. How could you, as his family, fail to grasp how severe this is?”
Tammy was stunned speechless by his harsh scolding.
She stood there, unable to form a single reply.
“Is… is he going to be alright?”
Seeing her dazed, panicked state, the doctor softened his tone, “You may go in to see him.”
She stepped into the ward and spotted Lucas propped half-up in the hospital bed. His shaved head suited him, yet nothing could mask his sickly pallor.
Every inch of him radiated frailty-nothing like the polished, courteous young man he’d always been before.
Now he was simply a man waiting for death.
Tammy froze mid-step.
