Chapter 648 The Coveted La Esmeralda Geisha Beans
“She’ll come back.”
Jasper spoke with unshakable certainty.
“Faye is sharp and skilled at hiding. She evaded Jack’s watchful eyes for twenty years—she’s far from ordinary. If she chooses to vanish again, I can’t guarantee we’ll track her down a second time.
“Why do you think she’s endured twenty years of this miserable life right under her enemy’s nose?”
Foster paused, then the truth dawned on him.
No one would linger beside the person who destroyed their family without burning hatred in their heart.
Twenty years—one could only imagine how deep that resentment had grown.
Sure enough, before they finished brewing a second pot of coffee, Faye returned.
She gasped for breath, her head streaked with premature white hair, proof of all the terror and hardship she’d endured over the decades.
“You weren’t lying to me, were you? Can you truly help me get my revenge?”
“We can give it a shot.”
“Very well. I trust you.”
Foster shot Jasper a look of genuine admiration.
Just a few words, and he’d drawn out a woman who’d buried her secret for twenty years.
Faye glanced warily at Foster.
Jasper spoke up to reassure her, “He’s on our side. Without him, your revenge will be nearly impossible.”
She reluctantly relaxed her guard.
Now that she’d made up her mind to cooperate, she laid out the full story of what had happened all those years ago without hesitation.
The scene shifted back twenty years.
Through Faye’s account, the bloody, buried past slowly unfolded before them.
Tatiana put on the custom-made earrings.
The earrings functioned as earpieces for real-time communication.
She clipped a pearl and diamond hairpin into her hair as well.
She’d picked out an outfit specifically to match the accessory, so the elegant hairpin looked perfectly natural, not out of place at all.
Once fully ready, she stepped outside and climbed into Liam’s car.
The moment Liam laid eyes on her, he spared no compliments, “You look stunning.”
“Thank you.”
“You seem to take this dinner very seriously.”
“Why shouldn’t I?”
Liam smiled warmly, “Don’t be nervous. My father is easy to get along with.”
This was no lie; Jack always maintained such an amiable public persona.
As long as no interests were at stake, he was easy to get along with.
The car headed straight for the Langstrom family residence.
The Langstroms did not live in an upscale district. Instead, they owned a standalone three-story villa in an old villa compound.
Few people lived there besides father and son Langstrom—only two maids and one chauffeur.
Once the car pulled up, Liam hurried to open the door, “After you.”
“Thank you.”
They walked into the house one after another.
Tatiana finally came face-to-face with the most pivotal figure in her plan—Jack.
