Against Cruelty, She Grew Strong (by Anastasia Glover) novel Chapter 668

Chapter 668 Lying To Protect

Sherry listened in silence.

When it was over, she looked stunned.

But then she thought about it-and it was exactly the kind of thing Liam would do.

A chill crept up her spine.

“Our bet’s still on. We’ll see.”

After hanging up, Tatiana’s confident mask slipped. She exhaled, tense.

She was at the most critical stage of this plan-couldn’t walk away.

But over with Tammy…

Still no word.

She called Norman again.

He picked up fast.

“Norman-where’s Tammy?”

“We’re on our way to pick her up.”

She let herself breathe, “You found her? Good. Call me the second you’ve got her.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be quick.”

“Mm.”

After he hung up, Norman caught Lucas staring at him in disbelief.

“You lied to Tatiana?”

“What, I can’t?”

“She’s going to lose it when she finds out.”

Norman snapped, “So I should tell her the truth? That we didn’t find Tammy-only her finger?”

Lucas went quiet, his sickly pale face somehow even more worn.

Ever since that box arrived, neither of them had been able to think straight.

Lucas had even passed out on the spot-nearly died.

They’d never expected their enemy to be that unhinged-hurt her first, then talk.

It shattered their composure entirely.

At first they’d tried to convince themselves it wasn’t really her finger.

But when they saw that familiar scar on the pinky-they couldn’t lie to themselves anymo

It was definitely her.

Norman was furious-more than he’d ever been in his life. Even back when he’d been toss into the Arctic, he’d never wanted to kill someone this badly.

Buzz… buzz…

Norman’s phone buzzed again.
