Chapter 667 Wedding Before Papers
“Probably. I can’t be sure. This is exactly why I never wanted to expose her.”
The Cole family’s rise hadn’t been clean-they’d made plenty of enemies.
Back when he was young and reckless, he’d left a trail of messes.
After getting his memories back, he kept quiet. Didn’t want Tammy mixed up in it.
He’d wanted to clean up the Cole family first, then come back to her properly-though sh wasn’t giving him that chance.
And maybe that was the right call.
His worst fear had come true.
Todd and Tammy had no direct connection. He had no reason to take her-except to get to him.
And right then, the doorbell rang.
They both looked toward the door.
Norman asked, “Expecting someone?”
Lucas shook his head, “No one would come for me at this hour.”
Norman nodded at one of his men to answer it.
The door swung open-nobody there. Just a small box on the ground.
The man picked it up, shook it lightly. It felt almost empty-like an empty box, not a bomb-s he brought it in.
“What is it?”
“Give it here.”
Lucas took it, examined it. No markings. Looked like a courier package.
Norman’s face suddenly twisted, “I smell blood-open it.”
Lucas opened it.
Inside the box: a wad of cotton. And on the cotton… One severed finger.
Tatiana’s glass hit the floor with a sharp crack.
Liam jumped up, rushing over, “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
She blinked, “No-just clumsy. Sorry.”
“At least you’re not cut.”
Liam called for a waiter to clean up.
Tatiana exhaled slowly, her nerves jangling.
Something felt… deeply wrong.
She could barely sit through the meal. She wanted to bolt.
But Liam spoke up, “Tatiana-have you thought it through?”
She had to pull herself back. She smiled, “In a hurry?”
“Yeah. I am.”
He wasn’t letting go of her hand. He held it tight, his voice low, “I want a title.”
“Boyfriend?”
“No. More.”
She understood.
Her mind turned to Sherry.
She curled her lips, “You want to marry me?”
He held her gaze, “Yes. I do.”
“Not scared?”
“Of what?”
“That you don’t really know me-that I might be using you.”
Her tone was half joking-but seductive.
He laughed softly, “Are you scared of me?”
